Quaint Cottage with Large Porch
Spend time in tranquil McGregor village in a quaint cottage located near the town centre, close to coffee shops, restaurants, bike trails and a nature reserve. There are many lush vineyards close by for wine tasting and dam up the street to swim in. The home, with its characteristic yellow shutters, is a cool refuge from the Karoo heat with a large porch for braais and relaxing outdoors. Ours is a simple cottage equipped with everything you will need for a quiet trip out of town. Visit the local Temenos garden for a tranquil morning escape or take a scenic drive up to Lord's winery. Look out for one of the many festivals McGregor has to offer. You will have the place to yourself with complete privacy. I am available via telephone should you run into any issues. My favourite day in McGregor is a walk in Vrolikheid nature reserve followed by breakfast eaten on the porch, listening to the birds. Rent bikes from the McGregor tourist office and take a ride around the town. Take a floaty up to the dam and bask in the sun with the cool water lapping against your skin. Have an afternoon G&T at the Courtyard followed by a pizza or slow cooked pork belly ribs from The Fat Lady's Arms. That is a perfect day. Don't miss the morning market every Saturday next to the church. Try to get there early (8.30/9am) to get first pickings of freshly baked goods, handmade pottery, olive oils and natural cosmetics as well as fresh produce from local farms. Own transport is recommended. Wine tasting tours can be booked at the tourism office in the town, just walking distance from our cottage.
