Four bedroom, four bathroom house. The property is decorated in 'rustico' style with traditional tiles, white walls and stained wood doors and shuttered windows. Fully fitted and equipped modern kitchen/diner with oven and hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave etc and large extending dining table. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The main bedroom is upstairs with views for the mountains. It has an en-suite shower room. One of the downstairs bedrooms also has an en-suite shower room. There is a family bathroom with bath and another shower room. There is a large roof terrace. The property shares the rear secluded private patio and pool with Casa Francesca (our other house). Note that the two properties together provide private accommodation for up to 14 people. Self Catering village houses to rent in very quite friendly traditional Andalucian village on edge of Sierra Nevada National Park (which provides excellent walking country). Only minutes from town and facilities. 30 minutes to Granada and airport and to Costa Tropical. One hour to ski resort. The two houses were modernised in 2007 from 400 year old building. Decorated in 'rustico' country styling but with all mod cons, including fully equipped modern kitchen with oven, hob, fridge/freezer washing machine, flat screen TV with Sky satellite. Both houses have large roof terraces with views over the Lecrin Valley and into the Sierra Nevada foothills. There is a private swimming pool and patio area. Acequia is a pretty village. There are no shops or bars. There are daily deliveries made by local traders of bread, eggs, fish, meat etc. The nearby town of Durcal has a number of supermarkets and shops (and internet cafe). Niguelas and its bars is a short walk away. Golf / Skiing / Walking: A total of 3 golf courses are at Salobreña (30km on the coast)and Padul/Alhendin (15km towards Granada). The ski resort at Sierra Nevada is 45 mins drive from the house. There are a range of runs and the resort has been expanding every year. It is famous for the ability to ski in sunny weather in Spring until May. Acequias is adjacent to the main GR1 footpath with well defined trails into the Sierra Nevada mountains. Travel : Granada airport is 35 mins drive, flights with Ryanair, Iberia, Spanair and Monarch. Malaga airport is 1 hour 35 mins drive (and getting closer when the coast motorway is finished), with a wide variety of flights from many regions of the UK. Almeria and Madrid airports are also useful alternatives. Granada is 30km and 20 mins drive. Orgiva, the gateway to the Alpujarra is 20km and 30 mins drive, Lanjaron is closer, as are the many towns and villages of the Valley of Lecrin, including Lecrin, Durcal (5km many restaurants and supermarkets) and Niguelas (just a 3km walk away). 35km to beach at Salobreña. 45km to range of beaches in and around Almuñecar. Both towns offer considerable range of amenities but there are also less developed less commercial resorts such as Calahonda further east a similar distance away. Further Details: Acequias does not have any shops or bars (it's that peaceful) but bread is delivered daily, and eggs, fish, meat, watermelons etc (depending on what is in season) delivered by local traders who service the villages of the Lecrin Valley. Durcal is a 5 minute drive and has three supermarkets, many restaurants and bars and other shops, banks, internet cafe etc. Niguelas is the nearest village (a lovely 20 minute walk) with a couple of shops and bars. Granada is only 20 minutes along the motorway and there is a Carrefour hypermarket there. There are some stupendous drives - the Alpujarras, the Sierra Nevada ski resort, and the back way from Almunecar, lots of places to visit.
