Hidden away in the heart of the town, this quirky home makes the ideal stopover for singles, couples or small families. Built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) as a church hall, it later became a cobbler's workshop before under-going a conversion into a fabulous open-plan, one-bedroomed, detached home, set in it's own private courtyard garden. The interior of Cobbler’s Cottage is light, airy and open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and lounge having a pleasing flow. From the lounge, French windows open out onto the sunny courtyard garden and seating areas (weather permitting!) There is a bathroom on the ground floor with a roll top bath and a corner shower. The kitchen has an electric oven and microwave and is equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The mezzanine bedroom has a double bed for 1 to 2 guests but there is also a sofa bed in the lounge which can sleep 2 people at a small, extra nightly charge. Guests have access to the entire cottage and the private courtyard garden. ON NO ACCOUNT MUST YOU ENTER COBBLER’S COTTAGE IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING COVID-19 SYMPTOMS. IF YOU DEVELOP ANY DURING YOUR STAY, PLEASE RING - (Website hidden by Airbnb) JAN on (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) o (Website hidden by Airbnb) PAUL on (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) THANKS! Cobbler’s Cottage is our home for parts of the year. When not here we live in our home in France and welcome guests into our lovely little Market Harborough hideaway. Although I am a ‘absent’ host, I take great pains to make sure that my guests are well looked after and have been awarded Superhost status by Airbnb. Paul and I are always available to answer any queries via Airbnb message, mobile phone or email (all contact details are in the information pack) and we have friends and family nearby to help with any unforeseen circumstances. We don’t provide breakfast but you’ll find fresh milk, tea, coffee and biscuits upon your arrival plus a little ‘something’ in the fridge, as a Thank You for your booking. So, sorry we won’t get to meet you but I’m sure you’ll get along just fine without us! Cobblers Cottage is 5 minutes walk from the town centre, with it's excellent selection of independent shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes. It's a 10 minute walk to the train station (50 minute service to London, St. Pancras) and to the local leisure centre. With beautiful countryside on the doorstep there are lots of interesting places to visit - the famous tourist attraction of Foxton Locks, Kilworth House open-air theatre, with nearby Kelmarsh and Lamport Halls hosting regular antique and craft fairs. Two minutes from the front door is the lovely Little Bowden Park and the Brampton Valley Way, sixteen miles of former rail track, ideal for keen walkers, runners and cyclists. The Grand Union Wharf at the top end of the town is well worth a visit. From there, the walk along the canal towpath is lovely. You may even see the kingfisher! From Cobbler’s Cottage it’s an easy walk to the town centre, the train station, the Leisure Centre, Little Bowden Park, Welland Park and the grand Union Basin. Frequent buses to other parts of the county run from the town centre. If you come by car, places like Rutland Water and Althorp Hall make a good day out. There of are lots of taxi companies operating locally. Their phone numbers can be found in the information pack. A lot of guests find it easier to come by train and either walk or take a taxi, as so many places are walkable from ‘Cobbler’s’. If you come by car, parking is free on the street. Please read the Information Pack which contains information on local places of interest, the heating system and the TV etc. We have recently installed a wood burning stove to keep us cosy during the winter months. It would be fair to assume that that any visitors in the summer should not require to light it. If you are a winter visitor and wish to light it, there are starter sticks and fire lighters in the purdonium, with a basket of logs alongside. These are free for you to use but for any further wood requirements we ask that you supply them yourselves. Homebase just down the road and local garages keep ample supplies throughout the winter. On leaving, please clean out the stove, emptying all cold ash into the can which is found by the bins at the side of the house.
