Pros: ♥Automated check in (no waiting!) ♥ Comfy queen sized bed with memory foam mattress ♥ Open space & work areas to hang out, work, play, etc ♥Walkable neighborhood ♥Custom design with unique features (hand made tile, Murphy bed, commissioned mural) Cons: ☆Second floor apartment (one flight of stairs) ☆Rooftop not available in late fall/winter Welcome home! We live (and work!) nearby with our young kids, so if you need any kid-related supplies, just let us know. If the weather is nice, head up to the roof top to drink your morning coffee! Great views and fun urban rooftop vibes. (Don't worry, it's a flat roof with a parapet wall, but do be careful of course!) Children are *NOT* permitted on the roof-- sorry! When we travel, we value both our personal space and connecting with new people. We are happy to follow our guests lead when it comes to interaction. The apartment has everything you need to have a fabulous stay, but if you'd like some hand-picked recommendations or other info, don't hesitate to ask! Also keep in mind that I work full time as a real estate agent and construction project manager, so if you want the skinny on living in Newburgh or buying a home, ask away! Newburgh is an amazing and unique urban space with so much energy and good vibes. Our neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial buildings, and you can expect to see people hanging out at local cafes, grilling on the front stoop, and walking to nearby restaurants during the day. At night, the neighborhood is safe and we never hesitate to head out for a walk with a fussy baby at all hours. If our neighbors give you a sideways glance as you come in or if their cute kids start up an inquisitive conversation with you, it's just because they are looking out for us and the baby and don't recognize you! If they ask, just let them know you're here to stay with Sarah & Aaron and everyone will be great! Newburgh is a vibrant CITY and a melting pot of people with different origins, socio-economic, racial, and educational backgrounds. If this sounds fun to you and you have an open mind, please come. If you think you would feel displeased to arrive in a place where different kinds of people are hanging out and utilizing both indoor and outdoor public spaces, watching out for their neighbors, grilling, listening to music, having a beer or, (let's be real!), smoking a joint on their stoop, etc then our apartment unfortunately isn't for you. When imagining Newburgh think more "Brooklyn" and less "quaint and sleepy upstate cottage town." On the flip side, in Newburgh you're never more than a short walk from an excellent cuisine-driven dinner, a fun record spinning party, a jaunt in a beautiful park, or a bite of some delicious jerk chicken! Park your car and walk when you get to Newburgh! You can also get here via the Metro North train line and take the ferry over to Newburgh during commuting hours. We live with a young child, but our apartment is still somehow not incredibly kid friendly. There is a staircase in the kitchen that you'll need to watch out for, and not all of our cabinets and storage bins are lockable. We are family friendly, but do ask that parents take a look at the apartment photos, know their own child's limits, and be respectful. Thanks!
