Oregon Cottage @ The Mudhutters

Oregon Cottage is a cosy, open-plan, self-catering accommodation unit suitable for two, tucked away in the quieter part of town, on the edge of a large, protected, indigenous riverine forest. The forest is home to buck, prolific bird life and many other species of animals, which makes it a perfect hideaway for nature lovers and, in particular, birding enthusiasts. If you are up for it, we can guide you on walks to the more secret, quieter places of natural beauty. There is a path through our garden down to the river which you are most welcome to use . We live on the property, in the main house, and are available to be of service to you, should you need us. Morgan Bay is a very small seaside coastal resort. There are two hotels which serve pub - styled meals, open for breakfast, lunch and supper. There is a small general dealer which supplies most basic food (and other) requirements. The supermarket at Kei Mouth (between 6 and 15 km away, depending on which route you take), offers more variety, including freshly baked rolls. There are also. two bottle stores and a butchery. Yellowwood Forest, next door to us, has a pizzeria, a pub, a gift shop and a restaurant for your convenience. It is less than a 5 minute walk from our front gate. They host a local farmer's market every Saturday, which is worth a visit. The Pink Lady offers a gift shop, great coffee and home bakes, as well as loads of classy treats, preserves, honey etc.
