West Tower Alnmouth

(Please note due to cleaning limitations we can only accommodate Friday as a change over day) West Tower is a holiday home which benefits from its 18th century character, spacious airy rooms and its location in the heart of the village moments from the beach, golf course, pubs and restaurants. It is equipped with Super-fast Broadband, central heating, fan oven, induction hob, microwave and shower. West Tower dates back to the 18th century an is the former Customs House from times when Alnmouth was a busy port. The apartment nestles in the heart of Alnmouth above a busy tea shop and opposite the newly refurbished delicatessen cafe. The accommodation is laid out over two floors and the rooms are bright and spacious. Please note the accommodation is accessed via staircases so please consider suitability for toddlers and for people with compromised mobility. There is a sea view from the top bedroom and the more daring among you can climb a wooden ladder to access the tower for spectacular panoramic views of the coast line. On a sunny day the kitchen balcony is a fabulous place to sit and watch the world go by on the street below. West Tower is perfectly located for access to the beach, golf course and the shops restaurants cafes and pubs. West Tower also benefits from a central courtyard which can be used for barbecues and to store items such as bicycles and dinghies, buckets and spades. West Tower has been recently redecorated but is awaiting a more comprehensive refurbishment. Access is via stairs so it might not be best suited to the less able bodied. For children consideration should be given to safety with respect to the stairs and the kitchen balcony and the ladder to the West Tower. Access is to all areas Alnmouth is a fabulous village with stunning beaches and a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a links golf course, and a children's play area with barbecuing facilities (bring your own charcoal) next to the harbour If West Tower is clean and ready for guests you may be able to check in earlier than the prescribed time. West Tower does not benefit from dedicated parking. To unload we usually park outside partially on the pavement just in case the bus needs to get through and then park the car nearby. Parking is usually available on Peases Lane or Northumberland St, but if the village is very busy it may involve a short walk.
