Welcome to the village that time forgot. Carpe Diem is a lovely large, quiet, and very spacious house with 5 double bedrooms with on suite bathrooms, 2 lounges, and a very comfortable kitchen leading out to the pool area. This house is ideal for a group gathering or a stay over for an events weekend. NOTE: PRICE IS FOR WHOLE HOUSE, NO SINGLE ROOM BOOKINGS. Break away for a weekend or relaxing holiday to this Large rambling thatched roof house, within walking distance from the town, with old cob building style, old world charm styled furniture for a perfect romantic or group get away. (Whole house to rent only, not by individual room rental) Value for money with 5 large bedrooms, with on-suite bathrooms, 2 which has an outdoor showers with hot water), two lounges and a giant fireplace in the Lounge. Open plan kitchen leads onto an enclosed courtyard by the pool and has a separate Braai room. All rooms are set apart for privacy. Lots of communal space and outdoor space if you want to mingle. The walking trails are just across the road and walking is safe and enjoyable. Fur-kids welcome if well behaved. Don't forget - Saturday morning, there is a Village Market opposite the Church, at around 9 where the locals sell their home grown veggies and bakes olive oils and preserves, we usually make this our breakfast run. If you want to explore Robertson on a Saturday morning: Great very reasonable butchery in Robertson - Butcher Robertson - PINTO VLEISHANDELAARS - 55 Paul Kruger street, Robertson, Robertson, Western Cape, South Africa - (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)kery - Loretta's is just across the road from the Butchery and a delight of goodies - very reasonable. (quiche to die for and cheap) Dining out: Bourbon Street, Amazing Pizza (the Lamb pizza is divine) also they are well known for their steaks and :moerse" burgers and even Sushi. Four Cousins Restaurant, great food, Best thing ever is their Prego Roll and Chocolate Fondant. Breakfast - Strictly Coffee - seriously good breakfast. Donkey Sanctuary - great for kids to get acquainted with donkeys McGregor Winery has a stunning port/sherry. Lords Winery, serves lovely ploughman’s' platters and have some really good wines. (URL HIDDEN) - for more info on what to do while in Mc Gregor. Shirley and Rowena are very helpful so don't hesitate to knock on their door. McGregor is a unique, alternative, eccentric and therapeutic village away from the crowds where you can truly unwind, step back in time and just relax. Eating out is always a pleasure, we have several fine restaurants to choose from. McGregor village is home to a vibrant community of artists and there are top-class galleries for you to visit. The McGregor tourism bureau has all the up to date information to help you plan your holiday or vacation and make bookings for you at no extra cost. Give us a call or send an email it's that easy to organise your perfect stay in McGregor in the beautiful succulent Karoo, part of the Western Cape Winelands. Walk to the Pub, Saturday morning market, or the Church in Voortrekker Street. Its great to walk through the quaint little town and look at the spectacular gardens and self subsistence growers of veggies and fruit. Around town: The restaurant at Tebaldis' / Temenos is fantastic, reasonable and serve really good coffee, you must go for a walk in the garden - stunning, take your camera. In the little Mall is a great little Wine Bar, where you can taste and buy some local wines (note - its cheaper to buy a bottle than by glass). Karoux restaurant for fine dining has had a make over (Voortrekker Street), advanced booking essential. How Bazaar is another very cute coffee shop - Good coffee and goodies to buy. We have our own Butchery now, open on Saturdays too. PUB - The Old Post Office - walking distance, John is quite entertaining and ideal if the men want to catch the rugby game on big TV screens, great beer on tap, and he has the biggest Whiskey selection and is very proud of that fact, next door is a boutique with all kinds of things to buy. Also Villagers Farm Stall, Olives, Olive Oil and preserves tasting all day. (All within walking distance from the center of the town) I love the raw olive oil, first pressing.
