When you enter the newly restored former rectory in Mödlich, you will feel it immediately: it is a house where you can experience the past - and at the same time it is a place to enjoy and find yourself in the here and now in every season. The monument was lovingly rebuilt, detailed and as true to the original as possible - and emphasis was placed on a high quality and uniquely harmonious interior that lives the luxury of simplicity. Switch off, enjoy the unique nature of the Elbe valley, bike, read a good book, give your thoughts space, watch birds, enjoy together, maybe even marry - for this the hosts Frîa Hagen and Volker Warning have created a place where they will give you a warm welcome Welcome. The three different sized apartments of the house with a total of 13 beds (plus extra beds) can be booked individually, but also together - perfect for family celebrations, holidays with friends, training and seminars. In the course of the restoration work, all historical equipment such as doors and locks, windows and fittings, floorboards, stairs and shutters were refurbished and - where necessary - historically supplemented. Traditional handicraft techniques and building materials such as clay and lime plasters, lime paints and solid wood were used as far as possible. When the roof was redone, historical and in color and format the original beaver tail tiles were used; The roof was only insulated with pure wood and wood fiber insulation materials. The house is heated in an energy-saving manner by means of a heating integrated in the baseboards. In addition, the historic tiled stoves have been preserved or replaced in a historically appropriate manner. With respect for the grown patina and the aesthetics of natural materials, the interior always plays with the contrast between rural coarseness and sophisticated lifestyle. In the three holiday apartments in the house there are surface-mounted bakelite switches, English bathtubs on historical wide planks, high-quality English fittings and sanitary facilities, fully equipped full-wood kitchens in country style with worktops made from reclaimed old wood, box-spring beds and mostly historical but always stylishly combined The lamps and lights of the interior modern comfort and clarity, without ever breaking the style of the found substance. There is no room for kitsch here and the reduced color palette of lime white, natural white, gray tones and patinated wood, iron and brass emphasizes the surface structures of the materials found and used. The 14,000 square meter former parish garden surrounding the house also contributes to the atmosphere. With its old willows, oaks, walnut and fruit trees, a cottage garden with boxwood hedges, a smoke water pond, but also a playground and a large open space, together with the large sun terraces belonging to each apartment, it offers the perfect space for a wide variety of outdoor activities. Spring, summer, autumn or winter: Enjoy the luxury of simplicity in the rectory Mödlich. A 4500 sqm open space is perfect for ball games and the surrounding nature invites you to discover a lot. We will be happy to provide you with a cot free of charge upon request, and there are also highchairs for children. Binoculars are available in each of the apartments for nature observation in the species-rich Lenzen Elbe valley. The nearest shops (supermarket, bakery, butcher shop and others) can be found in Lenzen (6 km) or Dömitz. The bakery trolley visits twice a week. We also offer a shopping or cooking service on request. Would you like to explore the Elbe valley by bike? In our bicycle shed there are four minimalist-stylish bicycles of the Pelago brand for women and men, which we are happy to provide you with for € 7.50 / day. We are happy to store your own bikes there. Although we love animals very much: due to the high quality equipment and the special consideration for allergy-stricken guests, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate pets. They are also non-smoking apartments.
