Golden’s Bridge Home

Live in the country, commute to the city! Mid-century modern home an hour by train from Grand Central! Convenient to anywhere in Westchester County. If you are staying longer, we have fantastic public schools (Increase Miller Elementary, John Jay Middle/High) nearby; perfect for families. Please let us know a little bit about you and what brings you to the area! This is our family home that we share for gatherings and summer vacations, but we are looking for the ideal renters for September-June. We can be flexible if your plans overlap with that general schedule, just let us know what you are looking for! In the downstairs (main) house, we make 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms available for guests, comfortably sleeping four people. The kitchen and front deck is all yours as is the carport and main driveway. We do have a back porch with an comfortable "sofa" bed we could make available for a larger group. (Note it is not insulated so would be quite cold in the winter months) Please note there is a window air conditioning unit in the room with two single beds (that can easily be pushed together to make a king), otherwise there is no A/C. We do not live onsite; however we have relatives just up the road to answer any immediate concerns. If we are "in the country," we would stay upstairs and would not use any rented spaces. We are available by phone or text any time. Rustic dirt roads, quiet, trees and a wonderful breeze coming off the lake visible from the house makes this a restful place to escape the city! Many people who live here year round commute to NYC daily, the "Southeast/Harlem" line stop at Goldens Bridge gets to Grand Central in an hour. During the summer there is a camp for children, evening activities in the community center Barn on Hall Avenue, and the lake is lively. There are no lifeguards on duty except during posted hours in the summer, and the lake is for private use by residents and their guests. A car would be essential for staying here (Acme/Dunkin' Donuts/bank/pizza place shopping center is a 20 minute walk) as there is no public transportation apart from the train station. There is space for 1-2 cars under the carport, several in the driveway, as well as a parking lot across the road from the home. We have a permanent tenant who occupies the top floor apartment with their own kitchen, bathroom, entrance, etc. (you might cross paths in the threshold) and whose laundry machines are in the basement. The yard is open and unfenced with areas of grass as well as flowers, bushes, and trees.
