ROSE COTTAGE (sleeps 4)

Quiet secluded cottage by the forest with views of the surrounding countryside.During the summer months refreshments and bar meals are available at the campsite 600 metres away situated by a lake which is safe to swim in. Local shops and amenities 1.5 kilometres away. Easy access to the forest . Perfect for cycling, walking, fishing and foraging in the forest. Both Prague and Vienna are about a 2 hour drive or train journey away. Chateaux, castles and interesting towns within an hours drive. the cottage is an old converted barn and is independent from our house. It has its own private entrance and parking space. There is a swing and other childrens toys available on request with a cabinet in the cottage with games and a playstation available, plus a seating area and BBQ facilities next to the cottage. We also have sheep and geese in the field which guests are free to visit and feed Guests will be able to access all of the cottage. We will be available most mornings and evenings but only when the guests need us. As your Host family we are gradually renovating our 19th century gate/farmhouse. They have two children one of which has severe autism. They welcome all families and will try to accommodate all your needs. The village is full of history centred around Archduke Ferdinand and his family. Medinica restaurant is 1.5 k away, which straddles the Austrian border. There is a good fish restaurant 2 k away Ideal for cyclists and hikers. The Iron Curtain Trail is 1 k away. Local bus services run to the nearest train station and the nearest town of Trebon. The water is not suitable for drinking as it is sourced from our own wells. However it is safe for washing and for showers etc, and we will provide 10 litres of safe drinking water per day for guests. We would like to point out that we have raised our 2 children using the well water and we have the water tested at least 2 times per year. Over the past 8 years we have not had any problems. We can confirm that there has never been any chemicals put on the surrounding land over the past 100 years. My wife's ancestors were using the water to drink right up until the house was past on to us 10 years ago. This info is elsewhere on our website, but it has been noted that it is not easily seen.
