Perfectly relaxing and fun getaway from the city. My traditional Finnish home is perfect for family and couple getaways, nature enthusiasts and art and history fanatics. Guests would have access to Cable TV in the living room. Internet and Wifi. Fireplace. Gas grill for all barbecue purposes. Outdoor fire pit. The home offers a private and serene setting by sitting on top of a private hill. Although I live 45 minutes from the house, my phone and email is available at all times for your own disposal. Designated as the National Heritage Area, the valley is steeped in history, natural beauty, culture and a burgeoning food and farmer's market scenes. You can cruise and/or kayak the Hudson River or take in any of the numerous festivals, fairs and events that are abundant in the area year-round. Outdoor Enthusiast: If you love outdoor activities, your in luck! The famous Appalachian Trail is just one of the thousands of miles of trails enjoyed by hikers. Destination ski resorts, executive golf courses to PGA, white water rafting, world-renowned rock climbing, boat cruises, and fantastic fishing are just the beginning of the excitement you’ll find in the Hudson Valley outdoors. You won't want to miss walking over the popular "Walkway Over the Hudson", which is the longest pedestrian bridge spanning the river with captivating views. Food and Dining: The greatest chefs come from the Culinary Institute of America, located only 15 minute from our home. Whether it’s casual dining or white tablecloth service, gourmet fare can be found even in the smallest villages. The best part is that our farms provide the fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and wines you’ll find on many of our restaurant’s menus. Everything Else: Our beautiful and captivating villages boast unique shops, museums, art galleries and top-tier restaurants. If you find yourself in need of a shopping spree, the Poughkeepsie galleria is only 15 minute drive away. Our home is approximately 20 minutes from Stewart International Airport (Orange County. NY); almost an hour away from Westchester County Airport; 80 minutes from LaGuardia Airport; 90 minutes from John F Kennedy International Airport. The Metro North serves the Hudson Valley with stops in Beacon or New Hamburg, which is less than 15 min from our home.
