Texas Roadhouse

We sit on Dolores Mountain overlooking the Chihuahuan desert. U must like a little dust, stars and dirt roads to like The Roadhouse .There’s no other place quite like it that looks over the desert and to the mountains beyond. We are in the country and on a dirt road yet only 1 mile from the beautiful downtown Fort Davis, The Fort and restaurants. The cabin has many antiques and is comfortable with a small front porch. It is the bottom cabin as our personal cabin is the top cabin. We are located on Dolores Mountain and only a mile from downtown Fort Davis. The Chihuahua Desert Institute is 1 mile away. The McDonalds Observatory is 26 Miles. Paisano Hotel is 20 miles. This is where Rock Hudson, James Dean and Elizebeth Taylor stayed when filming the movie “Giant”. We are also 34 miles from Balmorhea, where the largest natural pool in the Southwest is. You will see the most picturesque sight you will get of the Chihuahuan desert from your front porch. The cabin is 800 square feet divided into 2 rooms. A king size bed in one room and small living room and kitchen in the other. It is not an elegant city home. It is a quaint country cabin with antiques and cowboy dishes but it is very clean.(We do not have WiFi but most people can access their phone internet). The house and the front porch. Will be there some of the time. Please call before you come as I would love to meet you. Park right there by ur front door. Please relax and enjoy. Extremely quiet place and comfortable.
