Cosy 2 bedroom cottage in pretty Godstone Village on the North Downs in Surrey
A traditional 2 bedroom terraced cottage built in 1860 in the historic & very pretty Surrey village of Godstone. The village features in the Doomsday Book and was once a stopping off point for royalty traveling from London to the South Coast. It has many quaint old buildings and a traditional village green complete with duck pond. There are 4 attractive pubs in the village, a cafe, tea rooms, a post office, small food shops, antique and gift shops, a chemist and a farm shop selling locally produced meat and vegetable, plus a Tea Room. it is 3 miles from Oxted town which has a large supermarket, shops and a great selection of pubs & restaurants. There are some lovely local walks in the area and it is ideally located for exploring Surrey and Sussex and also has easy links by train to central London and easy access to the M25 motorway. Gatwick airport is a 15 min drive from the house and Heathrow airport is approx 30 miles via the M25 motorway. The house has an enclosed porch with cupboard, coat hooks and shoe storage space leading to a cosy sitting room with fireplace, bookcase, sideboard, side tables, internet, gas central heating and 40" wall mounted flat screen Smart TV. There is a large very well equipped kitchen diner with electric cooker and hob, microwave, slow cooker, sandwich toaster, coffee machine, mixer, hand blender, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have equipped the house as our second home and provide plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, and cooking pans. You will enjoy our luxury downstairs bathroom with his and her sinks and fabulous shower/bath. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with king size bed and cotton bedding, wall mounted smart TV and plenty of wardrobe space and a very small single bedroom equipped with bunk beds (suitable for 1 adult on the bottom) and a chest of drawers. There is a handy second toilet with sink upstairs. The house is best suited to 3 guests, although 4 can be accommodated. Please note that the house is not equipped for very small children and isn’t suitable for children under 3 due to the open stairs. The house is set back from the road with a long front garden and another enclosed garden to the rear of the property which has a small deck, stone patio and wooden table with 4 chairs. There is plenty of free on and off road parking in the side turning next to the house, this is unrestricted and a cul-de-sac.
