It is close to the city center, nature parks, the university, local sporting events, & mountain activities. Mountain bikes are available. The apartment is located on the second story above the garage and separated from, but attached to the main house with private parking, a private entrance and a newly refinished private deck (25 ft x 8 ft) with table, chairs, and umbrella. The deck give an excellent view of the 3 acre park setting. To the southwest of the main house is a small pond with a fountain. The pond is home to several ducks and duck families. The west side of the property is defined by the fast moving, mountain-snow fed Logan River. There are several spots for sitting, enjoying the relaxing sound of the river, and fishing, if you wish The hillside to the east has several trails that are a great place for kids to play or for taking a stroll. All of the trails meet at an overlook with gazebo and sitting area. From the overlook, there are excellent views of Utah State University, Logan City, and the Wellsville Mountains. The Wellsville Mountains are particularly spectacular when the sun rises (if you are up...). And there are often spectacular sunsets in the evening. To the south is the six acre Denzil Stewart Nature Park which is available through a gate on the south side of the property. We also have a variety of wildlife (deer, pheasants, quail, ducks, etc.) visiting the property, please enjoy them safely. The Apartment is energy efficient with LED lighting throughout and 100% of the power provided by an array of Solar Panels on the South Side facing roof. You are within walking distance of the University, Logan City Center, and the Island Market Guests have access to all areas of the grounds, all sitting/meditating areas, the playground, and hillside trails. They also have access to the six acre Stewart Nature park to the south via a locked gate (the combination is provided on arrival). By arrangement barbecue grill and outdoor games (croquet, bocce ball, and others) are available for guest use. We live on-site, but separate from the apartment and are usually available. We can be texted, emailed, or called anytime for assistance. Prior to arriving each quest is given detailed instructions, and a unique apartment access code. Guests can show themselves into the apartment and make themselves comfortable whether or not we are home. We love to meet guests and hear their stories, but all interaction is whatever the guest wants... none, little, some, or a lot. We are our own neighborhood. The property borders Center Street, but the house and apartment are about 400 feet (120 m) back along Hansen Street and for most of the year can't be seen from Center Street. This makes it secluded and noise free. On the west side of the property is 800 feet (250 meters) of the Logan River, with little on the other side of the river. To the East is hillside, with trails and view points with spectacular views of the Wellsville Mountains across the valley, of the Utah State University to the north, and the river below. To the south, through a gate is the six acre Stewart Nature park also along the river with some trails and picnic areas. In short, the place is very secluded, in the middle of the city, and with no neighbors. There is parking on site at Hansen Street. Public bus system is within 1/4 mile (400 m) and is free within Logan and Cache Valley. There will be a map and time schedule in the apartment for your use. If you like to walk... We are about 1/2 mile (750m) from the Island Market. It is a small neighborhood market (the last one in Logan). It has most of the everyday needs and food. The food is fresh and prices are very reasonable and competitive. They also have a pretty good beer cave at the back of the store. You can also buy Caffe Ibis coffee (ground or bean). A sample of Caffe Ibis coffee is provided for your enjoyment in the apartment. We are also about 1 mile (1500 m) from the Historic Logan Tabernacle, and the Logan City center, where an array of shops are available. The University is also about 1 mile away. Every Saturday morning from May thru October, there is a Farmer's Market located at 50 West and 150 North (just over 1 mile (1.2 km). There are a large number of vendors, including local music, pottery, farmers goods, crafts, and food. And, of course, you can get fresh brewed Caffe Ibis coffee. A fun lunch can be had at "Even Steven's" located to the east and south of the market. You can even have a beer with lunch, if you like. The university is also about 1 mile (1500 m) away by foot, but it does include a steep climb. The city is developing a trail system, much of which is available for you to use. There is a map of the Logan City Trail System in the apartment.
