The cozy antique rennovated cape bedroom offers a comfortable double bed ,full shower tub. A lap desk for your Ipad or laptop. Romantic. Well lit ; natural light and man-made. There is a reading lamp above the bed to nestle under the comforter with a good book during our short winter New England days or to offer as a respite after a spring ,fall or summer day's hike, swim or shopping. The room is right off the dining room which has a fireplace, which is in operation most winter days. Enjoy your tea or latte there or move into the spacious Living room. Meant to be a quiet refuge we do our best to give you your privacy and use of the first floor. We do prepare the morning meal early and try to be as quiet as possible.We provide white noise for your convenience. Great screened porch or sunny patio for tea. For breakfast we may offer you a cup of tea, coffee and something else, offering raw local honey from our own bees when available. You can't get more local than that. Please note October to May we offer coffee or tea only ( inquire) . You can stroll out to enjoy one of the many breakfast places from casual to lavish just nearby. Enjoy the living room and dining room and your cozy bedroom. Two outdoor tables, outdoor garden bench, screened porch all at your disposal. Share it with us or use it privately. No Kitchen Privliges. 2 Reiki Masters, 2 Yoga Instructors get an inhome massage (needs to be booked in advance) or yoga geared just for you, private lesson in studio or by ocean, class or instruction ( also must be booked in advance). Use the land to sit & relax, hammock or stroll or snowshoe. Contemplate in the medicine wheel. Enjoy your cozy room. Occasionally we host a small musicians circle with your permission. Join us if you would like. Yoga studio for use with private lessons. Request a yoga retreat and take two yoga classes a day for a small extra fee and eat all raw and organic vegan ($40/day). You can sit on the north porch or picnic table on the cool west side of the house or the patio with grape vines on the sunny southeast side. The dining area is for your breakfasts and bring in meals. Kitchen is not for cooking. NO KITCHEN PRIViLEGES except for tea and instant coffee making. We encourage you to explore the surrounding area and its natural beauty and man made delights. We are here to greet, help you settle in and then whatever you want or need. No intrusion. Enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with us. For an added fee we can entertain you, as registered guest ( up to 3) or provide dinner for you and your family/friends who live near by (up to 8 max) We can have a chat at arrival and departure, all else is serendipitous. After that interaction is as needed and requested by you. We can offer a ride into either town or take you on a stroll, perhaps. We can take you to one of the local yoga studios. There are two yoga teachers hosting this air b&b. Welcomed to join us for yoga or for meditation. There is a tai chi school in the area and also Qi Gong. We do not intrude on your space. Consider us a French "Cabot Cove", Paris, Portsmouth across the Piscataqua, where the mouth meets the sea. Though the neighborhoods in Maine are eclectic. Lobsterman near a Stockbroker, musician across the street from a school teacher. Where else can you watch fireworks on the 4th of July from the quay? A stroll over the bridge from Portsmouth, NH, Kittery is a sleepy town waking, an international neighborhood with great food, art, spas and shopping.Something to do all seasons for everyone. Market Square day in June, Kittery Block party in June, Dancing in the street in July. Concerts in the park in July & August. Theatre in the park in Summer months. Zip lining, rope climbing, learn how to surf or just get some much needed R&R and pampering. Spas and yoga studios, qigong and tai chi. Chili cookoff in September . Great Museums. We bid you a warm welcome into our home which is nestled on 2 acres of land, walkable in three seasons, snowshoe-able and cross country ski in winter. We are not far from the ocean with lots of places to walk, hike and be entertained, very close to Mt. Agamaticus and only an 90 minutes from the white moutains ; There is lots all very near by. Portsmouth is across the bridge, within easy walking. The ocean is a 12 minute drive, 4.2 miles ( hai temple and many Christian churches , some in walking distance others a short drive nearby. There is a rec. center 1/2 mile from our home where you can enjoy a free indoor walking track. As noted earlier we are in a typical Maine neighborhood, eclectic, nestled away on 2 acres of land. One neighbor is actually a lobsterman. There is a convenient and inexpensive shuttle from/to the Boston airport, which is 50 miles away.see C&J limo services. The Portland Maine airport is also 50 miles away,.( Greyhound bus or Wanderu bus). There is also a shuttle to the Dover,NH train Station and the Boston , MA train station. You can walk to the many restaurants and breakfast spots in Kittery Town Center. We ourselves walk into Portsmouth, NH. It is an easy 2 miles. It is the cultural center with the Portsmouth Music Hall and Prescott Park being the focus in Portsmouth for summer months. We can also drop you off in town if you would like to walk on your return. We are a short drive to York, Ogonquit and a longer drive to KennebunkPort. We are 1 hour from both Portland Maine and Boston, MA and Manchester NH airports. Our place is only a short and easy drive from I - 95's exit. We are the first town in Maine,right across the NH border.Maine, the Way Life Ought to Be! WiFi of course is available upon request though we highly encourage techno-fasts (digital detox) and encourage a natural energy rather than electronic ones. The bathroom will be stocked with soap, shampoo and other essentials, 2 robes and a closet and a place for your suitcase. We augment the heat with a fireplace insert on cold winter nights and occaisonal cool summer evenings. Sit near the fire and feel toasty. We also have air conditioning( upon request) on the very rare hot day in August when you might need it, though we highly encourage Maine air conditioning. There are ceiling fans, old cape doors with the simple latch handles and other interesting decor. We will be glad to offer your tea, coffee all year. From May thru October we can provide you with a light breakfast. Offerings available at time of arrival. Our home is simple but elegant in the New England fashion. Your room has a ceiling fan which is fine for most summer days, when the air changes at 3pm and the cool seabreeze blows our way. You will want to open your indoor shutters for the smell and taste of the salt air. (Maine Air conditioning). We want your stay to be pleasant without either of us being intrusive on the other. We are home during the day, retire to the 2nd floor early evening. For fun tours pre arranged try Harbor Adventures for Kyaking and bicycling around the beautiful seacoast 3 seasons.
