An easy 20 minute walk to St Magnus Cathedral in the town centre where there are all the usual amenities including shops, bars and restaurants. The cottage is situated in a quiet area with views over farmland. Wifi and heating provided at no additional cost. One double bedroom cottage with underfloor heating and focal point electric fire in lounge area. Private parking and lawn to front. There is a new kitchen/living area (completed March 2019) with double sofa bed. Fridge/freezer. Induction hob, extractor fan and built in oven. Separate shower room with heated towel rail. Bedroom with underfloor heating has a double bed, bedside cabinets and built in wardrobe. Free wifi. Washer/dryer. Outside washing line. No smoking in the property. No pets allowed. Accessibility - 3 steps down from parking space to entrance door where there is one step into the cottage (photos attached). The cottage inside is all on one level. Friendly quiet neighbourhood ideal for going on walks either in and around the town or in the countryside as the cottage is situated beside fields and walking routes. If you are arriving by car the cottage is fairly equidistant between the two ferries which connect the island to the mainland of Scotland. Travelling by car is probably easiest if you want to soak up all that Orkney has to offer and see the sights, but you can get the bus from the end of the road which is just a 5 minute walk away. It's just a 2 minute drive into the town centre. A taxi to the town centre is around £5. There are several tour firms which will take you to all the ancient monuments or wherever you want to go. Ferries to the outer isles are available daily. You can get a bus to and from the town centre at the main road which is a 5 minute walk at most from the cottage. This is also where you can catch the airport bus. Beautiful walks direct from the cottage around town, or in the country via lanes and bridleways.
