The Starfish Cottage private oceanfront retreat on Lighthouse road 1 mile from the Head Harbour Lighthouse where at lowtide you can walk on the ocean floor to visit the island the lighthouse is on. The Starfish renovated and has a lovely master bedroom with qu bed, 2nd br with qubed, 3rd with bunks and loft with twin. Enjoy ocean views, whales, seals, eagles, sunsets in screened porch, master br, on decks, in large flat yard, at bonfire or the adirondack chairs. You won't regret your stay! The Starfish Cottage underwent a major renovation in 2016 and then an addition in 2019 which added a large master bedroom with patio door that opens on to an open deck that overlooks the ocean. The bedroom has a queen bed as well as seating areas with large windows and patio doors opening up the view to you! The Starfish cottage has several different areas to relax from the open decks, the screened in porch which is great for dining alfresco or watching sunsets or enjoying the outdoors after sunsets. The sunsets are stunning from all areas of the cottage. There is a large and flat and open yard overlooking the water which is great for gatherings, picnics and games. The bonfire pit and adirondack chairs add to your fun! There is a deck that overlooks the water with adirondack chairs also which is great for watching the sunsets, whales that pass by, seals and eagles and the ships that pass. The cottage has three bedrooms and a loft with two twin floor mattresses also which is fun for the kids for playing! The cottage is one mile from the Head Harbour Lighthouse and 1/2 mile from a fishermans wharf where you can watch the fisherman bring in their catch for the day. Guests love our 4 private oceanfront cottages because they are private from one another and offer more space and amenities including wifi internet for each cottage. The Starfish cottage has a washer and dryer at the cottage also. Since our cottages are private from one another we just prepare the cottage for you and you can check in without going to an office. Campobello Island is a special and idyllic island of New Brunswick, Canada but connected by bridge to Lubec, Maine 04652 When the border is open you can drive through Maine to enter the island bridge. If you are coming from Canada you can drive through the US if border is open or take a government ferry to Deer Island at LeTete, New Brunswick to Deer Island and take the Campobello ferry to the island using East Coast Ferries. A pleasant ride on the water! Campobello Island is known for its beautiful views, sunsets and beaches for Sea Glass and treasure hunting as well as its many hiking trails. Campobello was also the seasonal home for Franklin Delano Roosevelt where the worlds only International Park is located. The Roosevelt Park covers nearly 1/3rd of the island and is jointly administed by the US and Canadian governments. The Herring Cove Park has a very large sandy beach, 9 hole golf course overlooking the ocean and a restaurant. The Starfish cottage is about 10 minutes once you cross the bridge if driving through the US or about the same from the ferry landing The Campobello FDR bridge is about 10 minutes from the cottage and the ferry landing is about the same. There is a small convenience store called Nikkis down the street and a larger grocery closer to the bridge. There are several restaurants during the season including the Pier, Porch, Campobello golf course and a take out. The grocery stores have prepared sandwiches for breakfast and lunch and NIkkis makes fresh deli sandwiches.
