Amble Cast Off - Northumberland Coastal Cottage
With two floors, Cast Off is the perfect base for families or a group of five friends at any time of year. Enjoy the busy fishing port of Amble, or venture further afield, for day trips around award-winning Northumberland. The property has some sea views and is adjacent to the harbour. The harbour village and lobster hatchery, weekend markets, beaches, shops, local bars and cafes, as well as our award-winning restaurants and ice cream parlour are all a very short walk from here. You enter the house from the front via the enclosed ground floor porch with its ample hanging space for outdoor clothing. Next, the spacious living room has sofas, a TV, and a display cabinet containing games, books and DVDs. Several tables enable different activities happen simultaneously. Through the French doors you walk into the dining and kitchen area. It’s equipped with everything you need to self-cater. The piano is in there too. The dining table can be extended for large projects, and there is good light and nearby electric points for your crafting activities. The property sleeps five guests comfortably in the three upstairs bedrooms. Each room has its own wardrobe storage space. A cot is also available. The property has one bathroom on the first floor with a shower over the bath. There is parking in front of the house on the street, which is one-way. There are also parking spaces in the streets behind the house. The enclosed back garden has a lawn and seating, with a picnic table. Your hosts and house keeper live locally, and the holiday cottage sister company is Amble Pin Cushion, a shop on the main street in town, so there is usually someone available to help in case of an emergency. Three minute walk from the harbour village and lobster hatchery, local restaurants, shops and pubs. We can arrange piano, guitar, mandolin and ukulele tuition, and have contacts with other activities and tutors (book before you arrive). We offer reductions on craft materials and courses at Amble Pin Cushion. If you are walking the Northumberland Coastal Path, Cast Off holiday cottage would be a great base, and you can catch the bus from Amble to and from the start of your daily routes. Taxis here are very reasonably priced. Alnmouth railway station is a 20 minute drive away, with a good chance of free parking. The market towns of Alnwick and Morpeth are a half hour drive, and Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed one hour away.
