Quiet holiday house in Döbrichau.
Our holiday house is located in Döbrichau, a small and quiet village between Torgau and Herzberg. The house is was built in 1522 and was originally the local inn for travellers. Today it is situated directly along the new Luther Path and is an ideal place for people passing through, holiday makers and those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Döbrichau is also located in a dark sky area and an ideal place to visit for anyone interested in astronomy. The rooms are clean and tidy and guests have access to a large kitchen with fridge, washing machine, coffee maker, oven etc., a private bathroom with shower and a large living room. Guests have access to free wifi. A high chair and travel cot are available on request. There is plenty of space to store bikes and access to a large garden with an outside seating area. we have for ancomming guests a little surprise! From October till April you can visit Dr. Alex's snowdrop garden which is located a short walk from the house. The house is also in walking distance to a reptile zoo to visit. Döbrichau is situated near the renaissance town Torgau (12km) where you can visit a the city's castle Hartenfels. It is surrounded by a bear pit and is well known for its spiral staircase in the court yard of the castle. Torgau also has a number of interesting museums, for instance the "Katharina Luther Stube", the place where Martin Luther's wife, Katharina von Bora, died. The nearest recommended restaurant is Brauhaus Alter Elbehof (12km) in Werdau: There is free on street parking outside the house or inside the court yard. The train station Rehfeld (2km) has an S-Bahn connection to Leipzig (S4, every two hours, from 7.03, 9.03, 11.03 and so on). especially in clear cloudfree nights the stars and planets are very good to see, no other lights disturb the starlights!
