Lehtisaari is a small Arctic Island paradise on the Torne River. With just three cabins and suites, it is the perfect place to relax in silence while sitting by the fireplace. Each self-catering unit has a kitchenette with a fridge, two-burner stove with small oven, kettle, microwave and a dry toilet. There is no running water on the island, so you can collect fresh water from the river pump and clean yourself in the traditional Sami way, in your private sauna. Minimum 2 night stay. The island is only accessed by snowmobile during winter and by boat during summer, adding to your unique Norrland holiday. Your guide will collect you from the Kiruna Guidetur office and drive you out through the forest, then you can sit back and relax during a short boat/snowmobile-sled tour through the sparkling arctic landscape to your cabin on the island. The guide will show you all you need to know about staying at the camp and will pick you up in the same way upon departure. When booking, please advise us of your arrival time so we can book your return boat/snowmobile-sled transfer. (Price is +195SEK per person each direction). The cottage has electricity, dry toilet and a kitchenette consisting of a microwave, 2-burner stove, small oven, small fridge, kettle and coffee-maker. There is no running water on the island, so you will be completely immersed in nature. The guide who takes you to the island will show you how to collect fresh water from the river and how to use your private sauna. You will have the whole cabin to yourself. The cabin consists of a bedroom with 2 single beds (can be pushed together to make a double bed), a kitchenette, dining area, lounge area (with 2 person sofa bed) with fireplace, dry toilet and private sauna. Please note: the cabin does not have running water. Lehtisaari is an island paradise on the Torne River; beautiful in all seasons. The perfect location for viewing the northern lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer. The island is not accessible by car, only snowmobile in winter and boat in summer. In order to reach the Big Suite on Lehtisaari island, you must book transfers with us; snowmobile-sled in winter and by boat in summer. We run these transfers as a short tour so you can see the incredible arctic landscape on route to your island paradise. Upon booking, please advise us your arrival time into Kiruna so we can book your transfers. If you are driving your own car, it is possible to park near the Laxforsen bridge and walk along the frozen Torne River for approximately 1 km to reach the island, however this is not recommended as the cabin is secluded and difficult to find. If you're booking tours with us, your arrival guide can show you the safe path to walk along the frozen Torne River to the meeting pick-up point. You can also book tours with us! Tours include: snowmobiling, dogsledding, northern lights, ICEHOTEL, Sami village, mine tours, city site-seeing etc. Equipment rental available from our office in town such as: canoe, boat, fishing equipment, mountain bike, snow shoes etc.
