Around 100 km from Reykjavik,10 km from Geysir and 20 km from Gullfoss (the Golden Waterfall). A 60m2 friendly cottage with panorama view over South Iceland, Hekla and Eyjafjallajokull. Two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Outside a patio with hot tub. During summer there is horse rental, restaurant, golf course and swimming pool in walking distance. If the weather and other condition are good, the hot tub out side of Stórabunga is the best spot to see the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis). Unfortunately we can not promise them, but we start to see them in the end of August until the beginning og April. WiFi access is in the cottage. The guests are renting all the cottage and stay there alone. In Uthlid is a family owned travel service and there is always people in place to assist guests with short notice. Many beautiful hiking trails are in the surrounding. Guests get directions if needed. During the winter time in clear weather, Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) can be seen dancing in the sky. It is convenient to stay for a few days in this place and visit many of the most popular places in south and west Iceland. When you arrive to the Úthlíð Area - you drive up the hill and come to Restaurant Réttin where the reception is. There you meet the staff in Úthlíð and they take you to the cottage and they can as well tell you a lot of things about the local area. You can park your car out side of the cottage. We don't have any public transport in Úthlíð - sorry for that, because we are on the middle of the Golden Circle and we are not isolated. The house is provided with bed linen and towels to use in the cottage. The kitchen is big and with all necessary equipment for cooking, stove, cooler, pots and pans, toaster and microwave oven . There are dishes, knives and forks, spoons and bowls and other kitchen stuff.
