Price is for the room that sleeps two. Have an authentic home experience and rent a private room in my lovely art deco styled home - built circa 1930 - with its high ceilings and Oregon pine floors. The house is situated in an elevated position that overlooks the town and the majestic Swartberg Mountains. This is my own private home where I live. It is NOT a five star hotel. The dedicated AirBnB space is comfortable, with a down-to-earth, unpretentious and home-from-home ambiance. The remainder of the house is my home where I live and where you are most welcome to visit. Included is a separate entrance, separate toilet and separate bathroom, with a bath and hand shower. These are for your exclusive use. (A full shower is available as a shared facility, also used by me, if you prefer showering.) My establishment is LGBTQI-friendly. Please Note! I have a small very friendly dog and three cats in the house. This space is NOT suitable for people with animal allergies or who do not like animals; or who have their own pets - as pets are not allowed in the room; or who have young children (I am unable to put in an extra mattress); or for people who have walking-mobility impairment - access might be too difficult to negotiate. You have access to my fully equipped kitchen, if you choose to prepare your own meals, or you may want to experience the excellent and varied eateries in Calitzdorp. Braai (barbecue) facilities are available in the beautiful garden which has a stunning view of the Swartberg mountains. You may also use an uncapped internet access via a WiFi network. I am at your disposal and available to socialise with you. However, if you prefer your privacy, it will be respected. Your "apartment" can be sealed off from the rest of the house. My house is situated in a hilly elevated area of the town, with lovely, uninterrupted views from the entrancing garden, which you are welcome to use. The house is within easy walking distance of the three main wineries in the village, Boplaas, De Krans and the Calitzdorp Cellars and all galleries, the museum and other places of interest in the village. Calitzdorp is a village and everything is accessible on foot. However, the scenic drives will require your own transport. Underneath the quiet, still facade of Calitzdorp, varied cultural activities are constantly on offer. The wineries, art galleries, eateries, scenic trips and easy day-tripper access to other Garden Route wonders make this a place worth staying over for a few days. Don't forget there is priceless peace and tranquility too! My very friendly small dog will want to interact with you, as will my cats. However, they will soon settle . Please do not allow them into your room.
