Aurora Guest House is situated in the very heart of Lerwick at the north end of King Harald Street, just minutes away from the convenience of Commercial Road and the town centre. A great location from which to explore Lerwick and Shetland. The Aurora Guest House has an abundance of repeat visitors who have stayed for holidays and business alike. Our rooms have modern furnishings, Freeview Digital TV, Tea/Coffee making facilities with the entire guest house beneifing from free WIFI. The top floor of the Aurora is the ideal place to bring your family for a relaxing break. This is our family area which contains two rooms and one shower room. It is an ideal space for families, or two people, who do not mind sharing a shower room, but enjoy having their own sleeping space. The Aurora Guest House has been run by the current owner, Andrea Sim, for a very successful five years, during which time an abundance of repeat visitors have stayed for holidays and business alike. Andrea stays in the property and is more than willing to answer queries from guests about the property, Lerwick and the Shetlands. Although situated in a quiet area, Aurora Guest House is just a few moments stroll from King Harald Street Flower Gardens, which accommodates the bowling, tennis and golf putting fields. Lerwick Town Hall and Library are also a stroll away, and the spectuacular Lerwick Museum, which is nestled in the picturesque small boat harbour with a lovely restaurant overlooking, is two minutes walk away. The Shetland Isles offer a wide range of attractions, from stunning natural scenery, museums and unique wildlife. A holiday in Shetland is truly special, and we'd love to see you here at the Aurora Guest House. We are located approximatley 1 mile from the Holmsgarth Ferry Terminal where the North Link Ferry docks from Aberdeen. To arrive at the Aurora from the ferry is approximatley a 5 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk. If you are flying into Shetland and landing at Sumburgh Airport we are approximatley a 40 minute drive, or an hour by public transport. You can use bus number 6 from the Airport to Lerwick, and we are a 5 minute walk from the bus station. Jarlshof Prehistoric and Norse Settlement - 19 Miles - This is an extraordinarily important site with a complex of ancient settlements within three acres. Tangwick Museum - 27 Miles - The Haa of Tangwick was built in the late 17th century for the Cheyne family. Different aspects of life in Northmavine through the years are illustrated by using a mixture of photographs and artefacts. Unst - 41 Miles - This estate at the northern tip of Shetland and Britain extends to 4,707 acres. It comprises ten parcels of land, eight of which are on Unst, and includes a number of houses and agricultural buildings.
