Tinner's Barn in the Heart of St Just
Tinner's Barn is a lovely, cosy, granite barn conversion full of character and tucked away in the centre of the pretty town of St Just right on the edge of the Atlantic. It’s the perfect bolthole for two and ideally suited for those wanting to explore this beautiful and magical corner of Cornwall and it's only 15 minutes walk from the South West Coastal path. LOCATION The whole town of St Just is a UNESCO world heritage site and surrounded by wild moors and dramatic coastline. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinner’s Way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. It’s an ancient route from the Bronze Age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle St Just is a friendly town that feels lost in time with an array of great local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small local supermarket for your everyday needs. Surrounding the town are the most spectacular stretches of coastline and fantastic walks from the doorstep. Sennen with its glorious surfing beach is ten minutes away as is Potheras, a hidden and stunning local’s cove. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance. LIVING Walking in through the door you enter the cosy open-plan living area. It's a gorgeous space, perfectly furnished with comfort and relaxation at the forefront. Sink into the armchairs, get the wood burner on and cosy up in front of the fire after a day of exploring the Far West. COOKING & EATING The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking a feast. You could prepare anything from a round of toast to a Sunday roast. Dine in the bijou sitting area with easy chairs in front of the fire, or use the pull-out table and set a romantic dinner for two. SLEEPING The gorgeous bedroom is on the upper floor, with a comfortable double bed and en suite shower room. You are guaranteed a restful night in this airy, calming room. BATHING There is a modern en suite shower room. Towels and bedding are provided for you, just remember to bring your own beach towels. OUTSIDE The door in the living area leads you to the sweet, fully enclosed, private garden. There's a table and chairs perfect for taking breakfast al fresco or enjoying a cream tea in the afternoon sun. USEFUL TO KNOW… PARKING: There's plenty of free parking in St Just and the towns free main car park is only a minute or two away. WI-FI: There is free Wi-Fi at Tinner’s Barn. As always this far West distances to the exchange and weather can slow things up and it can occasionally go down. There is reasonable 3/4G on most networks for checking emails if this happens. HEATING: There is an electric heater in the sitting room which is simple to use and works well. The wood burner keeps the place toasty. PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. One well-behaved dog is welcome at £35 per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in. LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels. ACCESSIBILITY: You can’t park outside but you can get close to drop off. The bedroom is on the first floor with steep stairs up so may not be suitable for those with limited mobility but always check with us first. This property is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. If this applies, please contact our booking office to discuss the properties potential suitability prior to confirming. CHANGEOVER & SHORT BREAKS: Short breaks are available throughout the year, for a minimum of 3 nights with flexible changeover days. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help. Tinner's Barn is accessed through its own front door situated in the lane at the rear of Queen Street. The host lives in St Just and manages the listing for the lovely owners, Katie and Gareth. Seb is available before and during your stay should you need anything and is always happy to help. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance. St Just benefits from a good bus service with links to Penzance and the rest of Cornwall. During the Summer months there is also an open topped bus which plies between Penzance and St Ives, following the scenic coast road. Although there is no dedicated parking, there are free parking areas nearby. For guests arriving by train at Penzance station a pick up and drop off service can be arranged. The Barn is not equipped with a washing machine, for longer stays there are laundrettes in Penzance. Or speak to Seb and he will try and arrange something.
