The gorgeously designed house is located in a generations old family property and derives from the reconstruction of an ancient haystack made of stone where rabbits were once bred - hence its name (“Casa dos Coelhos” stands for “House of the Rabbits” in Portuguese). About 150 meters away from the main residence - home for the family for most of the year - Casa dos Coelhos is surrounded by the grapevines and olive groves from which exquisite wine and olive oils are produced, every year. The outside patio is a gateway to a breathtaking landscape of sky, mountains and pure nature in its wildest form, so look out for the partridges, wild rabbits and occasional foxes one may spot while contemplating the magical sunset. The house stands in the middle of the winegrower region of Douro Vinhateiro, 3 kilometers away from the medieval village of Torre de Moncorvo - where besides a majestic Mother Church and traditional homes, you will be able to delight yourself with gastronomy specialties such as the almond sweet and the covered almonds - treasures that will be gladly disclosed by the local traders, for your pleasure. During the warm days of Spring or Summer, let yourself be surprised with the fluvial beach of Foz do Sabor - where the river Sabor drains into the Douro.
