Once a Victorian Station Master's house, now a fabulous peaceful woodland retreat, full of character and colour, with easy access to both coastal and rural North Norfolk. The period feel of the property has not been lost, just enhanced by an eclectic, interesting and individual style, with up-cycled lamps, retro finds and colourful decor. This semi-detached half-timbered house feels welcoming and relaxing as soon as you walk through the door. If you are looking for space, privacy and somewhere 'off the beaten track' to chill out, this lovely property will appeal to you. Ideal for a small family, a couple or friends, there is lots of room to spread out, both inside and out. There are two bedrooms on the first floor (king-size and twin) and two bathrooms. One is quite a surprise, unique and rather quirky - a bath 'cupboard' in the master bedroom - the other one is a very smart shower room. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen, a separate utility/cloakroom, a spacious dining room, and a really cosy, comfortable sitting room with an open fire and a table for a romantic dinner a deux. The garden runs to three sides of the house and is quite magical, with different 'rooms' to explore and enjoy. The whole property is surrounded by wooded farmland and is frequently visited by the local muntjac family for breakfast. Helhoughton is a small village surrounded by beautiful countryside, just south west of the market town of Fakenham, and about twenty minutes from the coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea. It is a great base for exploring this beautiful area of North Norfolk, perfect for walking and cycling, as well as visiting local attractions - Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Sculthorpe Hawk and Owl Trust, The Thursford Collection and Christmas Spectacular - and enjoying a day at nearby Fakenham Races! Ground Floor: Entrance hall With tiled floor and stairs leading to the first floor Sitting room With comfortable seating, quirky lamps, occasional tables, sideboard, open fire, widescreen television and small 'dining' table and two chairs (two more available). Dining room With decorative fireplace, table and chairs, and antique furniture. A doorway to Cloakroom With wash basin, WC and washing machine. Kitchen A small but very user friendly kitchen with butler's sink, electric cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, windows overlooking the garden and a half glazed side door leading into the garden. From the Entrance Hallway, steep stairs with handrail lead to First Floor: Twin bedroom With two adult size single beds, wardrobe cupboard and decorative fireplace. Master bedroom With king-size bed, wardrobe and decorative fireplace. A doorway opens to the 'secret' inset full size bath tub. Shower room With large P-shaped shower cubicle with rainfall shower head, wash basin and WC. Additional Information Sorry, no pets. There is an iron and ironing board. WiFi is available but please note that this is a rural area, therefore speeds may be slower than you are used to.
