La Fargue lies on a plateau above the main village of Choiseul, frequently called the cultural capital of St. Lucia. Traditional handicrafts such as woven baskets and clay pots using local materials are made by residents here. This is the perfect location to be based for persons who want to get around the south of St. Lucia. Located midway between Soufriere and Vieux Fort, it is no more than half an hour from most attractions in the south including the Pitons, waterfalls and volcano. This is a ground floor apartment with space for several people to be comfortable. Guests are welcome to access the entire apartment. This is a fishing village with active markets selling freshly caught fish as well as locally grown produce. There are also many bars (some beach-side!) and other establishments such as galleries and restaurants. Travelling about thirty minutes north and west will bring you to the town of Soufriere which holds a large variety of attractions including the Sulphur Springs, zip lining and many waterfalls. Travelling south-eastward from Choiseul will bring you to the charming village of Laborie within fifteen minutes and to the town of Vieux Fort after a further ten minutes. Both places hold attractions including the Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie and activities such as paintball and windsurfing in Vieux Fort. The international airport is also located in Vieux Fort. One and a half hours either way will bring you to the capital city of Castries. The flat is centrally located near easily accessible public transport routes. However to make the most of your visit I would recommend renting a vehicle although it's not absolutely necessary. There is a large field within walking distance where many activities are held and local teams gather to play football and cricket. Adjacent to the field is a fenced public court for playing ball games that is lit up at night. Many beautiful beaches that are fairly popular with locals can be accessed within minutes. The Gros Piton nature trail is also accessed via Choiseul.
