Donici Country House

Our property includes three small houses, a big garden and a vineyard. It is close to the forest, where you can have great bike rides or a day-long hike to the Curchi monastery and back. You’ll love the unique atmosphere lost in time. In this village people still live as they did 50 years ago in most of Europe. The house has been renovated keeping the old style. One of the houses has been made into a modern toilet and hot shower, including also kitchen facilities. What is so special with our property is its location in the Moldovan hills, with a view to the local church; the quiet and spacious garden with a vineyard and lots of space for laying in the grass, playing games or hosting a barbecue with guests. The house is also in close proximity (200m) to the House-Museum Alexandru Donici - be sure not to miss it: (Website hidden by Airbnb) You can use barbecue, sun chairs, board games, a few books, and fruit trees to climb on or to eat from :-) The property will be entirely for you to enjoy. I am almost always connected so you can expect short response time. When I am not in the country, I have an agreement with my neighbour to welcome you and help you out! The neighbourhood is incredibly rural. Neighbours use to 'park' their goats in the square in front of our gate; you can buy eggs from a neighbour and rabbit meat from the other! Within a few km there are several very nice wineries (Cricova, Chateau Vartely) and the most beautiful sightseeing destination in Moldova, Orhei Vechi. Transnistria is not far and in about 4 hours you can reach Odessa. Donici is 10km from Peresecina (on the Chisinau-Orhei road), and about 40 km from Chisinau centre. Let us know if you need indications about how to reach the house with public transport or a private taxi. The public bus to Chisinau central market runs every 90 minutes and takes about an hour. We have an agreement with a private, safe taxi company that takes you to or from Chisinau for 500 MDL (25 EUR). We have no wifi but with a prepaid simcard you have excellent mobile coverage and very cheap data packages. Orange has the best coverage and with 150 MDL (7.5 EUR) you get a big package of 5 GB. For a smaller data package you can spend as little as 10 MDL (0.5 EUR). Just buy an Orange simcard and a pre-paid card to charge it.
