Clark Currier Inn - Marquand Room
The Marquand room is one of our two rooms with a private entrance. Located on the second floor, the room features its own deck overlooking the beautiful gardens and gazebo. This room has a King-sized bed. The room is named after the Pulitzer-prize winning writer, J.P. Marquand, famous for his series of fictional books of the 1930 and 1940s. Perhaps this Newburyporter’s most famous character was Mr. Moto, a competitor in the 1930s to Charlie Chan. The Clark Currier Inn is an historic house in an historic city. That history is reflected in the rich variety of original buildings that have survived for more than 300 years since the first Europeans settled on the banks of the Merrimack River. A drive along High Street, the main road through Newburyport’s residential section, is like a survey course in American architecture. First Period (“salt box”), Colonial, Georgian, Federal, Greek Revival, Italianate, French Second Empire, and Victorian styles are evident in many of the old houses found in this seaport city. Guests will have access to their guest room and all common spaces Guests can expect limited interaction with Jost The Clark Currier Inn is conveniently located 3 min to downtown Newburyport.
