Brand new cozy studio apartments with private entrance Opening for the 2018 summer season, we offer these conveniently located private studios. Come and stay in the picturesque fishing village of Stykkishólmur, close to nature but within walking distance of all amenities as well as the old town centre. There are four of these brand new houses all-in-all on the grounds. Three of the houses have two studio apartments, each with an en-suite bathroom and a sleeping area upstairs. Every studio has a private entrance. One of the houses has a single, slightly larger studio apartment, with an en-suite bathroom and upstairs sleeping area like the others. This particular house however has wheel-chair access and extra room for a baby travel cot (provided at no extra cost upon request). There is plenty of free parking space on the premises with a short path to the houses. We are next to the town campsite, right by the golf course, within walking distance of the local shops and the glorious swimming pool. Each studio sleeps four persons. Stykkisholmur is arguably one of them most beautiful seaside towns in Iceland, the gateway to countless islands on the bay of Breidafjordur, renowned for its unique arctic beauty. and well-preserved old houses in the town centre. Stykkisholmur is also known as the gateway to the innumerable islands of Breidafjordur bay, which is renowned for its natural beauty and remarkable wildlife. The church in Stykkisholmur is interesting architecturally. It makes a beautiful landmark both from land and sea. The view from the church over Breidarfjordur is spectacular. The swimming pool, just a stone‘s throw from our houses, is a welcome rest after a day full of activities. One of the tubs even has water pumped in straight from a hot spring to get the healing properties of the mineral-rich water. Some furher information: Distance from Reykjavik City Centre: 172 km. Stykkisholmur is, along with four other municipalities on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, the first community in Europe to get the EarthCheck environmental certification. The town is operated in as environmental friendly way as possible continually measuring various environmental indicators. The town was also the first municipality in Iceland to start fully sorting its waste as well as the first town in Iceland to receive the prestigious Blue flag eco-label for its harbour, and has been an European Destination of Excellence (EDEN), since 2011.
