Our Self-catering Cottages are fully equipped 2-bedroom units with an open plan kitchen, lounge and dinning area, a bathroom with free-standing bath, separate toilet, outside shower and veranda with hammock and wooden table. We now also offer Breakfast on our picturesque Lily Pond Deck. Your Cottage is private with your own garden and braai area in-front of the cottage. The shared spaces that you have access to is the swimming pool area, the kiddies play area, the Lily Pond Deck area (breakfast & dinner served here), the meditation corner with yoga deck, the donkey area, the Potager Garden area (decorative vegetable, fruit, herb and edible flowers). Every Cottage has it's own internal road with ample parking next to the Cottage. Access to the property is via a code controlled motor gate. Forest Edge's Managing Couple and owners stay on the property in a separate house with a flatlet. Reception is open during office hours, but the Managing Couple & Owners are contactable during any emergency situation. We LOVE hosting a good old fashion South African Braai and sharing it and our stories and cultural insights with our guests, but only if you ask for it... Forest Edge is part of a very interesting and diverse farming community. We ares still "old school", we have a Farmwatch, we have community braai's, etc. We are a melting pot of diverse people that share this amazing piece of God's Creation. From an ex politician, a medical doctor, a top physiologist to the last known living woodcutter family and a large dairy farmer - we really have it all - you will be amazed... We are 23km from Knysna town, but who cares if you are only meters away from the forest that captured the world renowned author Dalene Matthee's imagination and was the inspiration for most of her acclaimed books like Circles in the Forest, etc....
