Lovely charming cottage that has been modernised but retains its character with traditional Godin stoves, original ceramic floors and beams give our cottage a homely feel. Our cottage and garden are on three levels with one step between kitchen and sitting room and two steps between sitting room and lounge. It is an easy 75 minute drive from Calais and is a short drive from the market towns of St Pol Sur Ternoise, Frévent and Hesdin, and a 25 minute drive from the historic town of Arras with its beautiful squares and many bars and restaurants. There is a good selection of supermarkets, restaurants and bars in both Frevent and St Pol. A mobile shop selling bread and other basic food items visits Gouy most weekdays. The vibrant coastal resorts of Le Touquet and Berck are a 50 minute drive as is the cultural city of Lille. Bruges & the Belgian border are only a 2 hour drive away. The area is full of history from the mediaeval battlefields of Agincourt and Crecy to the more recent ones of two World Wars with the Wellington Tunnels at Arras, the Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge, the memorials and battlefields of the Somme within easy reach. Children will love the beaches of the Cote d 'Opale and particularly the steam train ride around the Baie de la Somme. .
