Country House on the Island of Ærø

154 square metre house in two floors ideal for one or more families, couples going on a getaway, or couples getting married bringing friends and family. For large groups, one or two modern caravans with floor heat can be set up in the back yard and serve as extra bedrooms. Or bring your own caravan, mobile home or tent. While being an old house with a lot of charm to it, it offers the comfort of floor heat, and modern appliances and facilities (including a new kitchen and new bathroom). Situated in the beautiful country side on the island of Ærø just outside the village of Skovby. The place is ideal for one or more families with children, groups and a couple/persons looking for an idyllic and quiet getaway. Also, the place is the perfect venue for a wedding reception. I will be happy to organise it for you, fx party tent in the garden, catering, flowers etc. (enquire for more info). It has its charm in all seasons of the year. It is ideally located for walks, hikes and bike rides on the back roads and trails. The summer season offers great outdoor opportunities including the local beach. In the winter season you can take advantage of floor heat, the heat from the aircon and the cosy feeling of a fire in the woodstoves (brændeovn in Danish) in the house. You will have full access to the entire house, the equipment and property including the backyard. The house has 3 proper bedrooms. A toddler bed and extra mattresses are available. The living room has space for 4 or more floor mattresses. A pavilion in the yard can sleep two persons. Depending on availability and upon mutual agreement, large groups may have access to one or two modern caravans in the back yard as extra bedrooms/family rooms (enquire for more info and availability). They are both high quality Cabby caravans with floor heat for year round use. They sleep 4 and 6 persons respectively. I want you to feel at home and expect you to treat it like your home. I will clean and make the house ready for you to enter as your own home. You can use it and make yourself at home but please also leave it as you would leave your own home when you go away for a trip (windows closed etc.). Please, let me know if you will like me to be there when you arrive to introduce you to the house or if you are fine checking in by yourself. In most cases I will be able to meet you. In case we don't meet when you arrive, I will give you instructions on how to enter the house and other useful information. I am usually available for online messages and via mobile phone from 07.00 am until 10 pm seven days a week. Please feel free to ask and let me know about any special requests or wishes. I am well connected to people and service providers on the Island and will be able to answer your questions and most likely be able help you organise and accomodate your stay according to your needs, budget and wishes :-) I just need to know in due time to allow for planning and organising. Children friendly including nearby playground. The property is surrounded by fields and close to the village of Skovby. Go for a "hidden walk" around the village or towards the beach. Hike or bike along the coast of the island. Explore the island, it's nature, beaches and the towns of Ærøskøbing and Marstal. You can reach it by the island's public bus which has a stop just 150 m from the house and connects to the ferries and to shopping in Ærøskøbing, Marstal and Søby. The bus is free of charge. However, to take full advantage of the place and what the island has to offer, you might want a car. Duvees, pillows, sheets, covers etc. are available so you can make your own bed with the type of duvee etc. you prefer. In case you want ready made beds, please let me know in advance. Otherwise I will let you make your own bed and guide you to where you find everything. Dogs are welcome at the house. Part of the yard can be fenced in for a small dog. Other pets; please enquire. I will do my best to facilitate it. However, cats are not allowed due to allergies. Should you have any special needs, requests or enquiries, please just drop me a message and I will be happy to do what I can to facilitate it and help you make your stay on the island as pleasant as possible. In case you'd like me to organise a wedding reception or other event for you, I will be happy to do so.
