Elegant French-style B&B room 2 mins from beach
Spacious 1st floor room - kingsize bed convertible to 2 singles. Bed&Breakfast in creative Cleethorpes near seafront terraced home. Quiet cul-de-sac. Patio/back garden/summer house. Bikes to hire. Private bathroom - with shower. I’m a much-travelled warm & welcoming, non-intrusive host recently returned from years in France & previously China, Nepal, India. I'm a craftswoman and life coach. My passion? Making & building 'things'/ personal growth & helping others to do the same. I serve breakfast in the dining room and on fine days on the patio. You're welcome to use the summer house and garden. Good news is that Cleethorpes enjoys more sun and less rainfall than many parts of Britain. Your room in my home is a perfect base for a relaxing creative retreat or for exploring this wonderful seaside resort which offers an amazing range of possibilities : anything from exciting ‘Kiss-Me-Quick’ entrainment in arcades, donkey rides, beach & sandcastle building, or trips on the miniature railway or boating on the lake, through to wonderful nature walks or cycling beside golden often deserted beaches & sand dunes famous for myriad stopover seabirds on their North Atlantic migration. There’s a good Leisure Centre with gym and swimming pools. Gastrowise? Loads of good fish and chip shops, quirky or elegant bistros, bars or good quality restaurants. There’s good shopping on St Peter’s Avenue plus fun boutiques and shops to explore on Seaview Street - and neighbouring Grimsby has a comprehensive range of high street shops. There’s a golf club, cinema, range of fast food restaurants and a bowling alley 15 minutes away and there are good bus and train services if you’re not travelling by car. Incidentally, I am a Trinity College Cambridge TEFL teacher and offer individual residential courses for learning English as a second language. (£75 - 100 a day including breakfast accommodation, a daily hour of 1:1 teaching and a daily outing with conversation.) Your bedroom, bathroom, dining area and downstairs toilet, Summer House and patio. I'll be available for advice or help during the course of your stay but will of course respect your need for privacy in your own space. The house is in a quiet street, a cul-de-sac as mentioned. You're very quickly onto the seafront from the house. There's a nice restaurant at the end of our street - plus a good bar that has music on Thursday and Sunday evenings. A 15 minute walk away along the seafront every Sunday there's live jazz at Moon on the Water (serving vegan food) - 1 - 1.30. Plenty of really lively night entertainment. Many guests check in for the night and go out for a really great night out just 5 minutes walk away - easy to weave their way back home to their big cosy room!! There are plenty of buses running locally, to facilities, to neighbouring Grimsby and other towns and villages. And of course there's the railway station with trains to Doncaster, Sheffield, Newark and regular connections Manchester Airport or London. On the question of parking - our street is at times a wee bit tight for parking but guests always manage to find something nearby. I do have a cat, my dear young friend 'Pause' - just in case you're allergic. He won't be allowed in your bedroom but keep the door shut if you don't want him in. He's affectionate and extremely nosy. Well, he's a cat!
