The Lajos Wine Country Cottage

Welcome to The Lajos Cottage, an adorable, cozy escape from the city hustle and bustle, near Lake Balaton. This charming 3-bedroom cottage is a perfect place to relax and recharge while enjoying Hungarian wine country. Wake up to the sounds of farm life, and finally finish that book you’ve been meaning to read, or grab one from our little library! Looking for pampering? The many resorts and spas around Lake Balaton have just what you need! Only 90 minutes from Budapest! Guests are welcome to use the entire house during their stay, and the outdoor patio, and garden. All these spaces have been designed for you to enjoy during your stay! Our guests are welcome to use the entirety of the home during their stay - make yourself at home while you stay with us! Enjoy the large patio and garden, or recharge with a lovely walk around the block! We ask that you not use the shed or the wine cellar in the backyard as these are being renovated for future use and we don’t want you to come away from your stay with us with an unexpected injury! The village of Lajos may be small but it offers everything you need for a wonderful visit! Just done the street from the cottage is the main road. Here you’ll find two supermarkets, along with a restaurant. Interested in a wine tour? Let us know in advance of your stay and we can help to coordinate. About 10 minutes down the road in Enying you’ll find several restaurants and stores. Just 20 minutes from the cottage is the game Lake Balaton, known for its stunning views and the lovely spas and resorts that surround it. There is parking available right in front of the cottage. We recommend getting to Lajos by car. Car rentals are available from Budapest airport if you are flying in. You can take the train to the local station, but will need a taxi to take you from the station to the cottage - about a 15 minute trip. Please do not use the shed or the wine cellar in the back of the garden. These are both being renovated currently for future use.
