The hotel is located in a national scenic area and has dozens of activities such as wine tasting, hiking, bird watching, fly fishing, wind surfing & kiteboarding within a short distance. We are centrally located, just an hour and a half from Portland, ten minutes from Hood River and The Dalles on the Washington side of the Columbia River. Newcomers always leave as friends. Although, it is charming and a place to escape the city and mainstream busy life, we pride ourselves on providing a craft taste of The Gorge! With craft beer and local wines we offer a taste or sip of all the goodness you may not have time to visit. Richard and Trece Loiseau-Simpson create a cozy friendly atmosphere while the hotel is the perfect location to enjoy all the the Columbia River Gorge has to offer. Folks should always feel like coming home when coming back to visit us at The Lyle Hotel. The Lyle Hotel Restaurant and Bar was built in 1905 in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. It was an outpost and meeting spot for railroad industrialists, and road builders. It has a rustic charm and a comfortable atmosphere to relax and plan your Gorge adventures.
