The Smokehouse

The Smokehouse is a 2-floor beautiful cottage that used to be, well, the Smokehouse! It was also used as the summer kitchen, washroom and root cellar. The upstairs is a huge beautiful living/sleeping space with a king memory foam bed, large sectional sofa, daybed, stone lined walk-in shower, full kitchen. Built around the turn of the century; the Smokehouse was indeed used as a smokehouse. Also a summer kitchen, root cellar and wash house. Milk was stored to cool in a trough that ran thru the kitchen. Meat was hung in what is now the bathroom. The upstairs had vents that came up thru the ceiling, allowing the smoke from the fire downstairs to smoke the meat. We have left all the original wood on the upstairs floors and walls. The railing for the banister is made from the fencing that surrounded the house many years ago. We love this space! It's airy and open and a great place to chill, read, sleep, make food, order in, read, have a massage.....make yourselves at home! The entire cottage.
