Water View & Walkable: Private Suite
Large private en suite bedroom in light-filled house by the river. Quiet neighborhood 10 min walk to downtown Portsmouth or Kittery. The best of New England in easy reach - much of it without even needing a car! Quaint homes, churches and restored brick buildings; beautiful beaches, rivers and woods; historic forts & parks; hiking, skiing, biking, swimming; fantastic restaurants, theater & music; proximity to Boston, Portland and the towns and beaches of ME, NH and MA. This is a spacious bedroom with queen bed, arm chair, and closet space. There are three windows that look onto trees / back yard. You will hear birds chirping in the morning much of the year. In summer one window has an air conditioner. The en suite bathroom has a large tiled shower and two pedestal sinks. Suite is at the back of the house, extra quiet. Wonderful space at a fraction of the cost of the high end inn right next door. Please note our household includes a well-behaved (if energetic) 8 yr old child. You are welcome to spend time in the house common areas (living room, kitchen, dining room and yard). Bedroom has wifi access but television is only in the living room. We certainly want to make you feel at home. We can allow you full privacy or welcome you into some of our day-to-day rhythms during your stay. Kittery and Portsmouth both have fun downtowns, with dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, and cultural venues. Our little neighborhood is quiet while still just a stone's throw from all that's nearby. Warren's Lobster House, Lil's AND Beach Pea AND Kate's bakeries (not to mention Portsmouth's bakeries), Golden Harvest for great produce, Carl's meat market, Terra Cotta fresh pasta, Black Birch, OreNell's... are within a few blocks on the Kittery side of the Piscataqua! Or in a few more minutes be at Flatbread Pizza, Portsmouth Brewery, Surf, or more than a dozen other great eats in Portsmouth! Prescott Park, Strawbery Banke, Market Square, Music Hall, Seacoast Repertory Theater, ferries to Isles of Shoals, whale watching and more. Oops I'm gushing.... You won't run out of things to do here! You can walk to many places, but to go to the beach, outlets or farther afield you will need a car. A trolley and buses cover the Portsmouth area, and buses run to Logan Airport from Portsmouth (4.5 miles). The Amtrak Downeaster stops 12 miles away in Dover, NH. Great for short personal or business stays.
