The Cottage at Shangrila is a 2 bedroom free standing house, with a lovely open plan living area, and a spacious verandah, with spectacular see views. The Cottage is set in a magnificent indigenous garden with beach access through the garden Shangrila is a beautiful 10 acre beach front property in the tiny village of Bazley. There are just 3 houses here, one of which is where the owners, Charles and Elizabeth live, with their dogs. The garden has been professionally landscaped by the famous Elsa Pooley, and teams with birds, butterflies, bushbuck and the tiny impiti buck. The beach is quiet and has great swimming and fishing spots, as well as surfing and kite surfing, paddle skiing, cycling and hiking trails near by. The famous Alliwal Shoal, one of the top 10 dive sites in the world, is close, and there are more than 15 top golf courses within an hour's drive. Selbourn and Umdoni golf courses are right here. The whole property is available to guests We live in one of 3 houses on the property Bazley is situated on the KZN south coast, which is famous with scuba divers for the Aliwal Shoal, as well as the annual sardine run. In autumn and winter, the sea is full of migrating whales, who spend the summer months in the Antarctic, and move further north in winter. The Indian Ocean is warm all year round, and is great for winter holidays, to escape the cold of the South African interior It is possible to Uber to Bazley from the airport. There is a shuttle service from the airport to Pennington; which is the neighbouring village. If we are at home during your stay, someone would be able to collect you if you opted for this mode of transportation. The caravan park is 1.5 km from the cottage and has all of the basic amenities that one may need. You can buy ice and charcoal here.
