There are lots of local footpaths leading to the wonderful surrounding countryside of both Somerset and Dorset. The village has its own Farm Shop which sells a range of meat, dairy, cereal, fruit and veg - all sourced as locally as possible. To complement the shop, there is a seasonal fruit farm, garden centre and cafe serving light meals and snacks. The Manor Arms pub and restaurant in the village is within walking distance and offers beers and both a bar and restaurant menu. The White Horse pub and restaurant in the neighbouring village of Haselbury Plucknett (half a mile away from North Perrott) also offers local beers and has gained an excellent reputation for its original and delicious food. The small market town of Crewkerne with its monthly farmers market has three supermarkets, a swimming pool and specialist shops. The area is rich in National Trust, Montacute House, Barrington Court, Lytes Cary are a short drive away. Haynes Motor Museum and Fleet Air are just a short drive away and suitable for all ages. The pretty Dorset town of Beaminster is 6 miles away with specialist/boutique shops and historic listed buildings. Larch Barn lies just 14.2 miles and 35 minutes from West Bay on the famous Jurassic Coast via the A3066. West Bay was the location for the successful TV series 'Broadchurch'. A little further along the coast is Burton Bradstock, 15.3 miles from North Perrott, where visitors can walk on the beach and then call in at the famous Hive Cafe. Abbotsbury Swannery - 22 miles away is the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans, it is the only place where visitors can walk through the colony, see cygnets hatching and participate in feeding the swans. Abbotsbury is also home to the famous sub-tropical gardens which hold a number of events throughout the year, including the Classic Car Show, The Abbotsbury Fair, Outdoor Theatre and the Enchanted Illuminated Gardens.
