Comfortable, cosy house in village

The beautiful coastal village of Baltimore is a great base for exploring West Cork & the nearby islands. My home is a warm and friendly space, with a great kitchen, cosy living room & open fire. A fantastic place to relax and unwind! There is also a sunny little garden where you can have breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. Lots of whales, sharks and dolphins to be seen at times, take a ferry to Sherkin or Cape Clear and swim in Lough Hyne, a nearby salt water lake that I love. My home is very relaxed and Baltimore is a great place to base yourself for a trip to West Cork. Mizen Head is an easy drive for a day or Sheeps Head Peninsula is another easy day trip. Baltimore itself and the islands of Sherkin, Heir and Cape Clear are great places to down tools and relax, walking, or cycling. For lake or sea swimming I recommend Lough Hyne, a short drive from my home or there are some lovely coves also to swim in. My guests will have access to my large kitchen (people are welcome to cook and store their food in fridge), a lovely spacious tv room with an open fire in Winter, wi fi, a walled back garden to relax in. My home is just 2 mins walk from the village of Baltimore, where you can sit and have such a lovely view of the harbour with all its activities. I love to meet new people so will chat to anyone who visits and share my local knowledge of lovely things to do in the surrounding areas, fairy houses in Rineen woods, Coastal drive from Tragumna to Castletownshend, night swimming or night kayaking in nearby Lough Hyne, fabulous places to stop and eat or have coffee - just ask me! I will also respect people's privacy if you just feel like some quiet time. Baltimore is a very special place, with lots of activities if you so wish, like fishing, sailing, walking, swimming, cycling, ferries to the islands of Sherkin or Cape Clear or it's just a lovely place to hang out at the square, which overlooks the Atlantic and meet the locals, have a Guinness or a pizza or a crab sandwich! There is a public bus service from the lovely market town of Skibbereen to Baltimore as well as daily ferries to and from the islands. I work in Skibbereen so can offer lifts to my guests. I aim to provide information on bus/ferry timetables for guests and info on local sights, places to visit, etc.
