The Colonel's suite is the master bedroom in this traditional Portuguese country manor. With its own bathroom and ante-chamber, it is comfortable quarters with a tranquil view over the Beira's undulating countryside. It is an ideal bed & breakfast for couples seeking a quiet country retreat surrounded by the charm of traditional Portugal. We also maintain strict COVID protocols. A guest bed permits 3 to sleep together in the suite. The rooms are off of the main house's central hallway. There are common sitting rooms in the main house and a kitchen downstairs. Guests have full access to the Quinta's facilities, which include a pool, garden and outdoor areas. There is a small shop of artisan foods at the quinta with products made on site. Quinta da Alvarinheira is at the very edge of the small village of Oledo, itself some 8km from Idanha-a-Nova where the closest markets are. There are no immediate neighbors. A car is almost completely essential, although there is a bus traveling between Idanha-a-Nova and Castelo Branco (where there is a train station) about 5 times daily.
