This twin room is on the first floor of our home, guests have access to their own private shower room and a lounge area which has views of Dunnet Head, Thurso and beyond. If you’re bored with the spectacular view there is a TV with all free view channels. The twin bedroom is modern, spacious and is steps away from its own private shower room. The twin beds are ideal if you are a solo traveller or holidaying with a friend. Bathrobes are provided to allow modesty for guests when using the shower room. Tea & filter coffee are available within the bedroom along with a kettle, fresh milk and sugar. Due to Covid -19 we aim to reduce risk but still ensure a fulfilling breakfast is provided. Your breakfast will bagged and ready in the fridge in your bedroom. You are welcome to take it away or eat in the room. If you have any dietary issues please let me know and I can make changes to the breakfast. Guests are very welcome to wander round the front garden and enjoy the spectacular views of Dunnet Head, Thurso and Scrabster harbour. We have free range hens that you will meet if walking in the garden. We also have a Hungarian Vizsla dog (Vinnie) who's downfall is his friendliness! We have spacious parking for guests and our garage has space for pushbikes or motorcycles. Guests are welcome to store outdoor gear in the garage. I will be available at all times to answer any questions you may have. We are 2 miles from Thurso in the small hamlet of Scrabster. A short walk or drive takes you to Scrabster Harbour where there are 2 restaurants, a fish bar, a tapas bar, a cafe and a pub (Popeyes). The harbour is also fantastic just to walk around and look at the boats. The resident seal might also be spotted scrounging fish from one of the many fishing boats. Fishing trips are available from Scrabster as well as the Orkney ferry, The Hamnavoe. From the harbour you can walk further to Holbornhead lighthouse and from there a grassy walk will take you to Holbornhead itself. Holbornhead is wild and rugged with spectacular views across the North Atlantic. Alternatively a visit to Thurso which is a 5 minute drive or a very pleasant 2 mile walk will give you access to restaurants, shops, leisure facilities, a golf course, a museum and historic churches. Another popular activity in the area is surfing. We are 10 minutes from the world class Thurso East waters. Due to the rural location guests will see more if they have their own transport. However, there is a good train and bus service, various ferry links to Orkney and airport all within minutes of our location. There are no kitchen facilities available to guests. We do not allow dinner type foods to be eaten in the bedroom. PLEASE NOTE AT THIS TIME WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT GUESTS WITH ASSISTANCE ANIMALS. THIS IS DUE TO OUR OVER FRIENDLY VIZSLA WHO WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO PLAY. Vizslas are strong powerful dogs and very high energy.
