Benny´s Nest 1 is NOT approved as a quarantine accomodation. Only Benny´s Nest 2. Away from the mainroads, living above the trees in a nicely built wooden house on top of Egmont hill with a stunning view overlooking Benji Bay, enjoying the unbelivable sunsets of the carribean and having all the basic comfort around. 10 - 15 min drive from/to the Airport, 10 min drive to downtown St. Georges, a couple of min to all the Marinas around. Can only reached by car, taxi or on your own legs. A nice 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom appartment on the upper floor of a small wooden house on top of the Egmont hill, overlooking Hog Island, Benji- and Clarks Court Bay. You have your own privat accsess via stairs from the parking area in front of the main house. Heading down an open staircase reaching your private veranda and start to lime. Further steps down will lead you in to the garden to a beautiful platform which you can use for yoga in the morning or for a relaxing sundownder or as a barbecue place. On request we can organize island tours, deep sea fishing or scuba dive tours, or any other needs you might have on our wonderful island of spice. Car rentals, airport transfers etc. Our neighborhood, Egmont - Petit Calivigny, is a quite wealthy area with a lot of fancy houses and one of the best residential areas of Grenada. Even though it is not far from our capital St. George’s (approx. 10 minutes by bus or car), you can still enjoy the tranquility and beautiful scenery at our lovely spot. Away from the crowds, mass tourism and the hectic tourist center; tucked away and far from the hustle and bustle of the capital city and the mainstream tourist centers. A short 15 min to 20 min walk will bring you to the eastern main road where you can catch minibuses for less than 1 US dollar per ride to the main bus terminal in St. George´s, from there on to almost every corner of the island. Restaurants in walkable distance: La Phare Bleu Marina - Deck Restaurant & The Lightship Bar (live music) - 10 min Whisper Cove Marina - Restaurant and Bar - 15 min Nimrod´s - famous rumshop (best known Caribbean bar on the island) - 25 min Little Dipper´s - best lambie on the island - 20 min Don´t forget headlights or flashlights when walking in the dark, even when walking on the mainroads. Getting around in Grenada Renting a car or using a taxi or getting on a local bus - it all depends on how you would like to explore the island! Many of our guests have chosen the local buses and have not regretted it. They were all excited about the experience of getting to know the friendly people and the Grenadian way of how things are. Bus drivers pick you up where ever you stand by road, don't worry, they will see you! For a little extra money and if it's possible for them to do it they will also do a little extra turn for you and drop you off on your favorite beach. There are no buses on Sundays, just a few on Saturdays and on weekdays you should make sure you get back home before 7pm. Renting a car might be more comfortable if you want to drive to everywhere at any time and explore the island at your own. Benny´s Nest can only be reached by car (taxi) or on your own legs. It is an approx. 15 min to 20 min walk to the public bus station on the eastern mainroad. The busstation is called "Egmont", "Marian crossing" or entrance to "Le Phare Bleu Marina" Or a 15 min walk to the bus station on Lower Woburn Road (close to Whisper Cove Marina). Bus No 2 will need about 15 min (2,5 XCD/person) to the central busstaion in St. George´s from where you can reach any point on the island by bus. Early morning and in the afternoon, busses are driving in a line. If you get lost on the island (this never happens before) - call Doris or Peter. If you drive by yourself (4x4 is recommended if you want to explore the island) - use the eastern mainroad until Marian Crossing / Entrance Egmont / Le Phare Bleu Marina, turn right, down the hill, accross Egmont Bridge, follow the road to Le Phare Bleu Marina, before you drive down to the Marina, use the concrete road up the hill on the right hand side (this road turns into a asphalt road half the way up). On top of the hill follow the bad tiff road to the right hand side. Benny´s Nest is the first house on the left side. Notice: on our access road we have app. 50 m very bad surface at the moment, waiting to be repaired by the govenment, therfore it is a bit tricky without 4 wheel drive car when it is wet. We hope that you are not scared of dogs. We have two of them, securing the property but are nice and cosy to our guest. When you leave the appartment, please keep the gates of your veranda closed, sometimes friendly neighborhood dogs are visiting us as well. We have 220 V / 3 plung outlets only. If you need other outlets, please bring your own travel adapter Washingmachine can be used at extra costs - 25 XCD per 6 kg load, washing only. (drying area available) bedding and towels will be changed once a week. for longterm rentals (more than 2 weeks) we are changing bedding and towels, and cleaning the appartment (bath- and bedroom only) once a week at extra costs of 125 XCD/week. The normal daily cleaning, dishwashing etc. is the guests responsibility. We are charging these costs before your checkout. We are renting out our guesthouse only. The mainhouse and pool is for our private use only, and not accsessible for guests.
