Bayou Blues Paradise Getaway Cottage on 1 acre

In the heart of Cajun & Zydeco music, food and culture. The cottage is a separate space. Standard hotel room size w amenities in beautiful relaxing setting on the Bayou Teche. There’s hammocks by the pergola and by the water, kayaks, saltwater pool & outdoor shower to enjoy. There is an outdoor full kitchen. NO SMOKING in the cottage. Netflix and Prime provided- no basic TV. non smoking property. A picture of yourself is required as your profile picture. Parties or large groups are not allowed. We are a Non Smoking Property. Our property is 1 acre landscaped with fruit trees, flowers, cypress trees as well as 4 100 yr live oaks with beautiful Spanish moss draped branches overlooking the Bayou Teche. We are in the heart of Cajun Country, where Cajun and Zydeco music are world famous. There is so much to do here we recommend a minimum of 3 nights to immerse yourselves fully in our rich culture. Our cottage offers privacy as it is a separate building to our home that stands at the end of a beautiful architectural porte cochere. It is the size of and offers similar amenities of a standard size 375 sq foot efficiency apartment/hotel room. Although it does not overlook the bayou directly it does have its own private side yard and all guests are invited to use and enjoy all of the property. Kayaks with direct access to the water (at no additional cost), beautiful landscaping and hammocks by the pool and bayou are a few of the things that make this a magical space. Also, for your pleasure, is our beautiful 60 foot salt water lap swimming pool with pergola and outdoor shower that is like an instant trip to the beach. Because we live in the semi tropics, swimming can be good from April thru October. We also have bocce ball, badmitton, and horseshoes. The cottage is appointed with a queen bed, good sized work desk/dinning table, love seat, indoor kitchenette w refrigerator, convection oven and coffee and tea makers and new outdoor kitchen that includes stainless appliances refrigerator, sink and stove top and work station and access to a charcoal grill. There is also a CD player/radio, WI-FI and TV w Netflix movies no basic tv channels. August 2020 we added an outdoor kitchen area with a hammock next to the herb garden. We also added a private BBQ garden area. Paradise is waiting for you. NO SMOKING in the cottage. Continental breakfast fixings provided. Breaux Bridge is a quiet town of about about 7,500 on the outskirts of and just 7 miles away from the city of Lafayette Louisiana. We are just a quiet 1/2 mile walk/drive away from downtown Breaux Bridge. People come from all over the world to dance to live music on Saturday mornings at 8:30 AM at the famous Zydeco breakfast. Joie de Vivre Coffee and Culture Cafe offers a cajun jam every Saturday after the zydeco breakfast. Other activities include Flea Markets, Avery Island, Longfellow's Evangeline Oak, Lake Martin Swamp Tours and/or a Plantation Tour. Washer and Dryer available upon request. Owners are LA state licensed massage therapists. We offer sonic massage with gongs and Trent is available Swedish and deep tissue for an added fee. All outdoor spaces are available for our guests' pleasure including the gardens, outdoor sitting areas, deck overlooking the bayou, pergola, swimming pool, swing, kayaks and hammock by the bayou and our latest addition of an outdoor shower w hot and cold water for those that enjoy the delight of showering with complete privacy in the sunshine or moonlight. Please note that the massage room is in our home and available for those that choose to schedule a massage for an additional fee. We like to give our guests their privacy but are available to visit with our guests and share stories about travels and interests with one another if they want and we are available to assist or recommend places to go or where to eat. We love being by the water and having neighbors that don't fence off their properties which only gives one a sense of greater expansion as if we have more acreage. The neighborhood is quiet with large lots up to an acre and the area was once a plantation called Paradise Oaks so as one looks around the neighborhood one can see these oaks scattered throughout the neighboring yards. The neighbors are friendly but keep to themselves unless one needed assistance....a quiet place to live and visit. Breaux Bridge is a small town so downtown is a lovely 1/2 mile walk away. Most guests have a car to get themselves around the area to get to local music, restaurants and other tours and activities. We recommend car rental if you do not have your car as taxi's are not easy to get and can be expensive. We do not have Uber yet in the area. Breaux Bridge is quaint for a 2 day stay. We recommend a car to see other sights such as plantation homes, Avery Island, St Martinville, New Iberia and more. Lafayette is only 7 miles away. That is where there is more music and variety of restaurants and a large mall for shopping for the area. We offer a Continental Breakfast which includes Coffee, tea, milk, juice, filtered water, biscotti or muffins and fruit. We do not offer a full kitchen but we do have a small refrigerator for storage and a convection oven in the cottage for cooking or warming up leftovers. with dishes and glass wear for your use along with a coffee pot and teapot. The basic amenities found in a hotel room. Our newest addition is a wonderful outdoor shower.
