Le Petit Sorin - Charentaise Farmhouse with Private Pool and Large Gardens

Built in 1897, Le Petit Sorin is a beautiful Charentaise Farmhouse set in two acres of gardens. Located in the heart of the Charente-Maritime region of south-west France, the farmhouse, pool, terraces and gardens were lovingly and extensively restored during 2018 and present exclusive self-catering accommodation for up to 15 guests. The farmhouse benefits from two large and fully equipped kitchens and dining areas, two sitting rooms and either double or twin bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms are en-suite with the remaining bedrooms having easy access to their own bathroom. All bathrooms are fully furnished with showers, basins and toilets and in addition there is a one bathroom on the ground floor with a bath. Outside offers a great pool area with a terraced area and lawn with sunbeds. There are two alfresco terraces at the front and back of the house with a covered area and a barbecue ideal for long lunches in the sunshine and lazy dinners into the evening. Extensive gardens at the front of the farmhouse offers a great space for games or for just finding a lazy spot in the shade to chill out. Nearby are the pretty communes of Leoville (5 mins drive) which has a great little boulangerie and outdoor restaurant, Baignes (7-8 mins drive) which offers two more boulangeries, wine bar, restaurants, pharmacy, post office and a small Intermarche. Further afield is the beautiful town of Jonzac (10 mins drive) with its stunning Chateaux and a great selection of restaurants, bars, weekly markets, thermal springs and Les Antilles a great indoor swimming pool complex. Within a short drive of the farmhouse are several beach lakes, great for swimming and sunbathing and many with aquatic activities and play areas for children. The fantastic Atlantic coast beaches of Royan and La Palmyre are within 1 hour 15 mins drive. The farmhouse is within easy reach of both Bordeaux (approx. 1 hour drive) and La Rochelle (1 hour 30 mins) airports.
