The Chalet is located near the Potomac River in quaint Knoxville, MD. It is very close to Harpers Ferry, WV, Antietam National Battlefield, historic Sharpsburg, MD, the C&O canal and other local attractions. There are two levels to the home and the Chalet comprises all of the upper level, which includes everything you see in the pictures. The Chalet is open, modern, bright and includes a full bath, kitchenette with microwave, kitchen table seating 4, washer/dryer and sleeps 4 comfortably. The unit offers a large open space for enjoyable social gatherings and views of the mountain. The common area and Master Bedroom have oak hardwood flooring. A gazebo offers additional space for relaxing, entertaining, grilling and enjoying the outdoors. The Master Bedroom has a new queen memory foam platform bed. The quaint upstairs loft has a new full size memory foam platform bed. All the furnishings and linens are new! A charcoal grill has been provided at the gazebo, but you will need to bring charcoal and a lighter. Just 2 miles from the property, nestled in the rising foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains next to the Potomac River sits the Victorian railroad town of Brunswick. Conveniently located approximately 60 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Brunswick boasts glorious homes, an active city center, shopping, historical sites, a one of a kind railroad museum, dining and recreational activities. Brunswick is very proud of its rich transportation heritage and you can experience it for yourself by visiting the Brunswick Railroad Museum or participating in Brunswick Railroad Days in October, featuring live entertainment, train rides, model train show, crafters, food, and much more. Because the Potomac River is only a short walk from the downtown shops, recreational opportunities abound. The waterfront offers fishing, boating, camping, kayaking and canoeing, and the C&O Canal towpath is excellent for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. Finally, no visit to Brunswick is complete without stopping by Beans in the Belfry, a café located in a 100 year old, historic, restored church building nestled in downtown Brunswick. There is parking on the property that is shared with the 1st level, with an overflow parking lot across the street. Because there is another unit on the 1st floor of the house (The Hideaway), we ask guests to refrain from excessive noise after 11 pm. We offer special discounts for renting both levels of the house, check with me for details. The separate 1st floor unit (The Hideway) is pet friendly. In support of the global effort to conserve energy resources utilizing reasonable practices, we have installed Ecobee “smart” thermostats in all of our listings that the guests can also control. The thermostats are preset with a maximum heating setting of 72 degrees and a minimum cooling setting of 72 degrees.
