Tradition reinvented

From the traditional Norwegian "Skåp og kvile" (cabinet and sleep) to the modern version of it. More than a room: an experience. Music, tea, life, northern lights, fishing and cooking lessons. Minimalistic scandinavian design with clean lines around pretty old pieces. Terribly cozy niche bed, for the child in you. Traditional norwegian bedroom reinvented. The niche bed has cleaner lines, but the same coziness as 200 years ago. The room is warm and ballanced, while the bed creates its own room in the room. You can open the window, see the northern lights or the midnight sun without leaving your bed. In the summer you might appreciate our most effective blinds that make the room pitch black. Top quality matrass, down pillows and duvet. And a perfectly matching bathroom next door. The house is well insulated and warm, with underfloor heating in the hallway and bathroom and electric stoves in the rooms. And we take pride in keeping the house very clean. Just like at the hotel, only a lot better! Besides the first floor where the hallway, the two guestrooms and the guest bathroom are, you have free access to our livingroom and dinner table + a well-equipped kitchen upstairs. You also have access to the utility room featuring washing machine and drying racks, but that requires some coordination, so please let me know. Again, unlike the hotel, this place gives you the opportunity to visit a country AND get in touch with the locals. You can decide yourself how close you want the interraction by either joining us upstairs or not. We hope you do :) Walking distance to Kvalvika and Fredvang beaches, to mountain cabin, sauna on lake shore. Hiking: medium (Volanstinden, Kvalvika, Ryten) or easier tracks (Kjærringløypa). The neighbouring village is Ramberg, with coffee shops, grocery store, restaurants, petrol station, gym, extreme sports center etc Bus Å-Leknes usually stops at the Fredvang bridges - an attraction in itself, unless the weather is bad. The driver may drive all the way to the village upon demand. If not, your bus stop is Fredvang X. We can assist with transport from/to the bus stop if you arrive/depart in the afternoon or weekends. We can arrange fishing trips with real fishing boats and guaranteed catch.
