“The Meadow” Shepherds Hut @ Ballymartrim Wood

“The Meadow” is a quaint, rustic Shepherd’s Hut located in a meadow at Ballymartrim Wood. The hut features a double bed, wood burning stove, gas hob, storage space, solar lighting and a patio. There is a BBQ and fire pit and a toilet close by. Ballymartrim Wood is located on an active farm so there are opportunities to experience farming life and engage in new activities should you wish. You could observe, photograph, or paint the native wildlife or learn a new countryside skill. Guests can access the farmyard and over 5 hectares of native woodland with a river, rest areas and a play area The Meadow is available to rent on a multiple nights basis (a 2 night minimum stay applies). We can provide advice on local facilities and help with getting there. The Meadow shepherd’s hut at Ballymartrim Wood is 3 miles from Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland, and close to the historic villages of Benburb, Blackwatertown and Killylea. There are opportunities for walking, fishing, cycling, shopping or just hanging out in one of the areas pubs and restaurants. Public transport is limited but taxis are readily available and bicycles are available to hire for a small additional charge. For equestrian enthusiasts we can also provide stabling if you want to bring your horse/pony on holiday. Dogs and other pets are welcome by arrangement but must be kept under control.
