Charming and peaceful character cottage for two!

A charming renovated traditional stone cottage with oak beamed ceilings and feature fireplace. The South facing private courtyard gardens offer chances to catch the sun all day long, and the secret courtyard is ideal for dining out under the stars. Set in a quiet rural location just a short walk or drive from the pretty riverside village with a boulangerie, restaurant, pharmacy and bar. The village is just a walk away and is beautifully set on the River Isle - perfect for an afternoon picnic. Outside the gates of the cottage there are beautiful and tranquil lanes perfect for walking and cycling through the stunning Dordogne countryside. Listen out for the Summer chorus of the cicadas, and you might even spot some of the local baby lizards basking in the sun. The well equipped open plan kitchen and diner features exposed stone walls and a beautiful oak beamed ceiling. The character fire place houses a wood burner and stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is plenty of room for indoor dining at the rustic table or breakfast bar. There is a separate cosy and comfortable lounge with British and French TV and free wi-fi throughout the house. Door leading out onto the garden. There is a separate double bedroom with all bedding provided. The shower room features a walk-in shower, WC, hand basin and washing machine. Towels, hand soaps and toilet rolls provided. Outside, the South facing gravelled garden area offers many spaces for outdoor dining and catching the sun throughout the day. Outdoor tables, chairs, sun loungers and BBQ are available. The secret courtyard, with its nooks for tealights, provides the ideal space for outdoor dining. The festoon lights provide a lovely ambience for evenings outdoors. Public parking (free) is available a few steps from the cottage. While we are located in the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside, we're also fortunate to be only a short drive away from the amenities of the busier towns. We are perfectly situated for many of the most beautiful towns and villages of the Périgord Vert with their restaurants and chateaux to charm you on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Our favourite places under 30 minutes away include Hautefort, St Jean de Cole, Jumilhac le Grand, and Brantome. Closer to home, and just a few minutes away, is our local swimming lake (free entry) for the perfect Summer dip and the Velo Cycle which is not to be missed. Just over 30 minutes from the cottage is the stunning cathedral city of Perigeuex with its shops and resturants, and a bit further afield are the beautiful cities of Limoges and Brive. Wherever you're travelling you're bound to pass chateaux, vineyards and acre after acre of sunflower fields. Good rail connections are available from Thiviers (10 minutes away) as well as supermarkets, petrol stations, and of course a French market for all of your local produce and delicacies. Limoges airport is just over an hour away from the cottage, and Bordeaux airport is around two hours away.
